![]() Supafight Gym is a new gym located in St Kilda, Melbourne, opened by long-time trainer Don Millar in October 2010. Don has trained in Muay Thai for over 16 years and has taught many State and National champions in this time. His current team of fighters include South Pacific champion Nicole ‘Pixie' Brolan, Victorian champion Mike ‘300' Demetriou, and Australian champion Rohullah ‘The Afghan Ruler' Paykari. His experience as a trainer has taken him and his fighters to Thailand, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Cambodia, Singapore and Malaysia. Don's success as a trainer comes from his belief that if you want to fight like a Thai, you must train like a Thai. He is well known for his tough rigorous training and utmost attention to his fighter's development and well-being. Don's ethos comes from how he was taught to fight by the Thais: conditioning, strengthening, repetition, long rounds kicking pads and lots of clinch work. He first started training in 1994 in New Zealand and trained under Pathai before becoming Australian Featherweight Champion in 1997. He also fought in Raja Stadium in Bangkok (1998) and Tokyo (1999). Don sends his team to train at Baan Muay Thai Gym in Thailand each year, run by Muay Thai superstar and close friend Sangtien Noi. Having a small but dedicated fight team and gym, Don is able to give everyone personalised training suited to their needs and goals, whether they're a professional fighter, they're in for personal training, or interested in group classes to stay fit, have fun and get motivated. Personal training session can be scheduled at a time that suits you, and group classes (including beginner, intermediate and girls only classes) are run five times week. Although Supafight Gym is all about serious training, it has a non-intimidating atmosphere with a cool chill-out area with big screen and couches, and welcomes people of all levels who have an interest in Thai boxing. The Supafight Gym website details all information about class times, PT sessions, and prices. You can also read all Supafight news, look at photo albums and even browse fighter profiles.
