Ben won easily via R2 KO, Paul looked like cruising to an easy decision after dominating R1 & R2 but then got clipped by a bolo haymaker in the third & dropped again right after - losing a points decision in then end even after flogging Catinas for two and a bit rounds. Big upset win for Catinas there, none the less.
The other fights were fairly ordinary at best, in fact pretty horrible to be honest. Crocop looked a shade of his former self as expected, Samedov looked to be beating up a 15yr old kid who all but folded after the first punch, Gerges put on the best performance of the night & Londt/Jaideep was an embarrassment to K-1's name & former glory. The undercard had a few cracking fights though. The Lee/Umeno fight was off the chain. |

Good night and good fights although the Rick Roufus vs James Wilson drawn decision showed just how annoyingly dodgey the judges in Japan are, and can favour the fighters they want to look after. Don't know how a judge can give Wilson the fight when he landed almost nothing in the fight.
As for the tournament, the only person that will win it, is Hesdy Gerges, and i'll give an outsider chance to Cătălin Moroşanu. Hesdy looked very sharp and impressive. Liked the Jarrell Miller alot, if he can learn to defend kicks, and throw kicks at the end of his impressive hand combos, he'll be a permanant K-1 star. Big future. Good that K-1 unearthed some nice younger talent. Crocop should of retired 2-3 years ago. Probably deserved the cheapshot he copped, after dilebrately hitting his opponent while he was on the ground.

Im with Avery i didnt think Paul was winning at all he was struggling with Catalins handspeed and powerful shots.
And Adambjjoz that 15yo kid (Xavier Vigney) totally demolished former UFC fighter Seth Petruzelli and Ko'd him at K1 USA. In Crocops defence his opponent Randy Blake also came off a decisive win over K1 veteran Dewey Cooper and Randy was undefeated until he faced Crocop last night.. Jarrell Miller was Klitschkos main sparring partner and is a very seasoned heavyweight boxer I thought Ben Edwards opponent Raul Catinas will be a force in K1 he just ran into the wrong guy in the first round(Bens shots would kill an elephant) |

Good to see Ben get through. Looking forward to seeing this event but no suprises that gerges looks to be favourite. The guy is a beast. unlucky for Paul thought this might of been his year.

So did I. We just don't have the standard of heavy weights down here

He was winning the whole way, but right at the end, your right, he was badly gassed, and both fighters looked 1 decent punch away from being KO'd.
Was and exciting fight though. Great to watch. Also 1 problem Ben Edwards seems to have is, he drops his left hand quite abit. If drops it against Jarrell Miller, he'll have an early exit from the tournament.

It's hard not to give it to the guy going forward and landing big heavy hooks, clearly doing damage and sucking all the energy out of Paul. Paul's kicks had no weight in them at all he landed a clean head kick and it didn't even phrase the Romanian
