View Full Version : Less then a week till Evo Melbourne
Really excited about the show this Friday. The fight between Paul and Ben is the most exciting Australian heavy weight fight we have had on our shores in years. Both are great blokes but I got a feeling Ben will walk away with the chocolates after being in form and last few years knocking out everyone in his path. The first time the guys fought Ben looked a little on the Muffin Top side side with the amount of weight he was carrying, but now he has trimmed right up, hitting the weights and moving like a angry middle weight. I cant see nothing but pure destruction this fight and there is no way its going to go the distance.
Soren vs Narapol will also be another cracker. Soren was beaten in their last encounter but Soren is a smart guy and I am sure Nugget will be working on a new game plan so the same thing doesn't happen twice. Sorens elbows and long knees have improved so much with his time in Thailand and I think it will be a treat for Melbourne fans to see a true A-class Muay Thai battle.
Angie vs Nicole Brolan will also be a cracker. Nicole has proven she is one of Australia's top female fighters and Angie has been training the house down wanting to make a statement and letting everyone know she is back and in top form. Correct me if I am wrong but has there been a full Thai rules fight in the females in Melbourne before??
I will be down with Angie and if the chance comes would like to apologise to everyone in person again for what has happened and why I couldnt fight on the show against Ole. Even though I wont be fighting if you see us there feel free to come up and say g'day as its always fun to meet new people from the forum.
All the Best Mark the Hammer, Nugget and Josh. This is just the thing Melbourne needs to raise the bar in the sport down there.

I don't believe there's been a female FTR fight in Vic of recent years so shoudl ab a great spectacle.
But mate, if you're goign to be apologising to everyone in person you'll be busy, it's giong to be a full house....

I think you're probably right about Ben winning against Paul Wayne and if so that means that I have dues that definitely need to be payed, but if the opposite happens it's over to you Voice.........;)

usually in these matchups I will always take the guy with the most top-level experience and in K-1 circles Paul is leagues ahead in this regard.
However on this occasion, Ben is the exact type of fighter that is most likely to beat Sting. I remember watching Paul fight Mighty Mo live at Yokohama a couple years back in a superfight to the Final...eventually Sting won by knocking out the legs of a very slow and fat Mo but early on his was almost KTFO by Mo's heavy hands and was very lucky to survive.
Ben is a lot more mobile than Mo and hits just as hard but much quicker. This really is a fight that I can't decide between the exprience and sheer doggedness of Sting who never takes a backward step and the brutish power of perhaps our most destructive heavyweight ever.
