DAILY TELEGRAPH COVERAGE OF FRI NITE BOXING

I dont know about anyone else, but i read the Daily telegraph on friday 13/6/03 and the only mention JWP got was

"Bika fights the Gold coast's former World Kickboxing champ John Wayne Parr..."

I am pretty disgusted at reading this and burnt. i took it really personal that this was all the publicity JWP is getting on a larger scale. He deserves much more than this, and the least the Daily Tele could have done was give JWP a better writeup.

whether or not kickboxing sells, JWP has accomplished much more than his 2 lines of text suggests.

Daily telegraph: wake up to yourselves you ****ers. Cover the sport and more importantly the fighters that are much more interesting and exciting.

Bika's a tough bastard.

I watched him fight Soliman in Melbourne late last year. Soliman got the nod but Bika was bloody impressive.

I honestly was surprised to hear that Parr was going to fight him after such a long time away from boxing. I know he fought cope a little while back, but that was only one round of boxing in 18months.

I agree with you about the coverage though Bullet.

I just watched the Fenech fight night in its entirity just 20min ago... JWP got alot of respect from the commentators. However, Sakio did win convincingly.

JWP is Australias best kickboxer/muay thai fighter under 72kg, no mater what any silly journalist reckons!

also, Watch out for Darchinian!

JWP should hold his head up hight it was a good fight but only got his foot work mixed up between boxing and kickboxing (as he said after the fight).

But how many fighters can do it in both kickboxing and boxing and be a champion at both of them????
His a champion fighter but i think at the moment he is consentrating on muay thai fighting wich he loves.
