Seems like fighters doing 'dog acts' is the flavour of the month to some...Drew thinks Carnage fits that role after this w/e's KTFO of his old mate Spong.

What REAL dog acts have people witnessed over the years? Tyson with an ear-lobe in his mouth comes to mind, Stipe Drews trying to end Paul Briggs' chance at fatherhood also.

Anyone?

Ozkan v Vermes

Ozkan started brawling with Vermes when the ref had called time out and was talking to someone at ringside. Then Ozkan got Vermes in a headlock refusing to let go even when the ref was trying to pull him off so Vermes bit him!

But the real dog act was when after Tibor Vermes got out of the ring (and got back in) because of Ozkan fighting dirty he was DQ by none other than Dave Hedgecock and his puppet master Tarik Solak

Tarik Solak, undercard of Ozkan v Jacobs, headbutts a fighter in the corner after he lost the plot ie; stomping his opponent on the ground and taking air swings at the ref.
Tarik Solak again [was a short little special on before one of his shows] had threatened to pull out a piece on some fighter to show him who's the boss.[:o)] [for some reason i can't remember] and probably heaps more but these two stand out.

thnx al.

Maybe this is not totally a dog act but I hate it when fighters touch gloves or are understanding it to be that and one whacks the other with a surprise technique.

I remember quickdraw being on the receiving end of a rough tactic alla knee to the face while on the floor. But levelled the score in a rematch cleanly.

Jerome le banner vs mark hunt in france...jeromes corner put some chemical on his gloves and it was rubbed into hunts eyes ..then hunt corner threw in the towel at the 3rd round.

I could be wrong but ive seen that fight half a dozen times and thats what it looked liked to me..even when jerome was celebrating his win he could barely open his own eyes.

If im missing any part of this one please correct me ..cheers

Chong Li throwing some sort of powder into Frank Dux's eyes in the final of the Kumite was a dog act too. Frank Dux still managed to win the fight with a super spinning twister ballerina splits kick and forcing him to submit by tea bagging him.Great fight.

Makaba...that one was killer ay...he was blind for a while and really had to "use the force" to make it through the fight....lol
he should have done the touch of death on him just to seal the deal..

This happened to me, my third fight, very start of round one, we came out I extended my glove and she pounced on me, always been hesitant to touch gloves since then.

I've never understood why they touch gloves in Muay Thai - in boxing they only touch gloves in the last round - would be interested to know why the difference?

Is it simply just a sign of respect?

Which fight was that Shazz?

Hellfighter

there was a good one about 2 months ago at Lumpinee, as soon as they touched gloves the red corner teeped the other guy straight in the mouth... got a big reaction from the crowd and he went on to smack him with another 3 or 4 after that

I believe Sims was confused with PRIDE rules....where stomps are allowed.
Frank definitely got his payback in the following fight.

HF I have seen PinSiam do that on a number of occasions except he would look down to adjust the band of his shorts during a fight which would make his opponents stop for a second then he would fire off a nice push kick

Yeah don't know. If it's a respect thing then why not wait til the last round like boxing. Anyone know why they do it every round?

Hellfighter
04-07-2009, 07:23 AM
they do it every round as a sign of respect, don't forget that boxers make just a tad more coin then nakmuay, so with these guys, they understand what each other is going thru

the ref has them touch gloves in rd1 and rd5, the rest is up to them... tonight saw Sam-A vs Pakon and at the beginning of rd1, Pakon offered his glove and Sam-A wanted no bar of it

Ha hasnt the hurricane been like DQ 3times also for eye gouging and biting? Also think he had troubles even getting into the states for a show not too long ago because of his DOG ACTS?
