I watched it two times and thought Evan won it by a point..
It was closer than thought..and you do not score the catching of the leg and sweeping inside...the kick to the stomach winded him and I do not think it was a kick to the groin like the judges thought it was so gave it a 10-8...1st rd 10-9 Evan, 2nd rd 10-9 Stanley, 10-10 even 3rd rd, 10-8 Evan 4th rd, 10-9 Stanley 5th rd..
Good night of fights great fight I thought Stanley has improved but Evan fought smart...Congradulations to both boys....

i thought it was closer than said before evan did win though. But bad decisions happen you cant help it alexy vs baris, mehmet vs antoniou when tarik gave the trophy to tony it happens but people shouldnt attack tarik like that he still puts on good shows and we need people like tarik, lucy, ray from qld etc. we gotta support this sport thats just my opinion OSU!

Well well well, it was a good fight card! Gotta give it that! Seriously what the hell was all the comotion about it being an under par night? The fights were great as!
As for the Headhunter V Evan fight. Here is my view of it (mind you it was 5am when i watched the dubbed version).
1st Round Evan
2nd Round Draw
3rd Round Nandex
4th Round Nandex
5th Round Nandex
WAIT! before you get down my throat!!!! The knockdown was the big difference between opinions. If you did include it as a knockdown you would have Evan up by 1 point...
Simply the judges DIDNT score the knockdown. So it wasnt soo much of a bad situation at all. The judges may have seen the knee to the groin/stomach much closer that all of us did.
At one stage HH was about to finish off Evan!!! if the round had gone on for an extra min, it would have been over.
However this is the first time I have ever seen Evan fight, and what a great fighter he is. Seems like a top bloke aswell! Bad luck for Evan, but your still young so dont worry, you will have your time in the not to distant future!

Not a bad fight card. But the main even left alot to be desired. It was very scrappy and the boys ( try as hard as they did ) just did not put on polished performances.
I heard Mark Castanini discussing how Evan would not fight for a World Title because Jenk desrved the shot more than he did. The Ultimate Gym ( from what i have seen ) are very loyal to their trainer ( Johnny Scida ) and each other and thats good to see, but after watching them compete, the skills of both were reasonably average although their heart was evident in both thats for sure.
John Hallford was saying to me that he would love to fight either and we are hopeing in the not too distant future to come on back to Victoria.
After watching the fight last night on Fox. "we see many things".
BTW. Geez that Paul Fyfield is a true ambassodore for the Martial Arts, he has & still does train fighters at the highest level including Sam Greco and must be one of the best corner me in OZ.
Anyway that my 2 bobs worth.
cheers

tony antonio looked like he had bulked up.. not much power though for a boy his size, would like to see him rematch smullen or fight a fighter at the same level.. mehmet and haddra are very average.

I scored the fight in the way of Evan, but that's only after I saw a replay of the knockdown, which I had not initially counted because I thought it was a low-blow, and obviously so did the judges. It was a close call, looked like it was right on the belt line, so you can't really blame them. That said, it was a legitimate knockdown, therefore, the fight should've been awarded to Evan. However, if I hadn't seen the slow motion replay, I would've scored it a draw, or maybe Nandex by a point. Nandex is tough though, and very humble, I didn't like how he was booed by the crowd afterwards, he didn't deserve that, he's a good sport and it wasn't his fault things went the way they did. BTW, did Nandex break Evan's arm with a kick?? must've been one hell of a kick. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch, but Evan seems to discouraged to take it.

I scored the fight to Evan - I counted the knock down. To me, it looked clean - I took into consideration the fact that HH can get up and throw a lunging punch at Evan - it would have been in the stomach - i doubt anybody could get hit in the jewels and then get up and throw such a punch. i thought the undercards were brilliant - especially Hadara vs. Antoniou and Graham vs. Chrisopoulidis. What do you guys think of Grahams flippy kick thingy?

I thought Evan won, although a close fight all the same.
The judges would have to score it as a knock down cause
Dave Hedgecock gave him a very long count.
Michael S...Hammer...and Stan all thought the same.As for the Fox...
a true gentleman of the sport.

Janer only you could wake me from hibernation with a typically whacked out comment. Lets see, you wrote this gem:
"WAIT! before you get down my throat!!!! The knockdown was the big difference between opinions. If you did include it as a knockdown you would have Evan up by 1 point...

If the judges didn't count the knockdown well it is a very very bad situation son, because gee how can I put this..it was a knockdown. Nandex goes down, Hegecock applies the 8 count (or was it an 80 count). Judges don't decide to score knockdowns when they feel like it. They score them when they occur, an amazingly simple concept don't you think? If the ref declares a down its a down.
Anyway I always wondered what on earth someone was smoking when they decided to try and push Nandex into main event/hyped star material.

Sash, there have been many occasions where the Judges disregard the referee's actions. i.e. 8 counts or knock down. As the judge may have seen a different angle of view.
But I get what you mean.

I think Evan should have won by a point. It was a clear knockdown, you only have to look at Stanley's body language; he was trying to get the air back in his lungs and he wasn't really worried about his nuts! He was also VERY LUCKY Dave gave him a long count, he would have surely been counted out by any other Ref. As for the rest of the card, the only guy that impressed me was Paul Slowinski. He has bulked up nicely and his technique and fitness hasn't really suffered from it. Look out K-1!!!
Hedgecock knows how to give a count. Take a look at Jemal Hassan for someone that doesn't. lol

[quote]Did u c the replay or what? Its was clear that Evan had won.
He took him down in every round and Nandex got a 8 count in the 4 round from a knee to the solar plexus. which left him on the canvas, and if the ref started the count very late, The reftold Nandwx that he has to get up? What do you think about that janar? If you need glasses or a copy of the tape to watch let me know!
