Can't wait for this game to come out on Thursday 21st May. Already played the demo and this game is gonna keep me on my couch for a long time.

Just wondering what all you other big kids think of the game demo if you've already played it. I know I freak'n love it. Already ordered me a copy.Would love to see an up to date K1 version of this game.

a mate of mine works at eb games and let me have a go of the advance copy they were given.its a pretty kickass game. a lot of controls to learn but not difficult to get the hang of. the historical matches are fun to play (i couldnt resist giveng josh koschek another beating at the hands of GSP;)) heaps of game modes and options...pretty damn cool all round

im a big fan of playing a lot of sports games that come out,but this is the pick of the litter so far this yr,we'll see what fight night rnd 4 will have to offer but it would wanna be real good to knock this one off its perch!

The Contender Asia had a huge tv audience around the world. I am suprised no one has gotten onto that for a next gen game.

I don't play games much these days, but have a K-1 game from a few years ago, but they could make a great game if they put some time into it.

I'm actually really really suprised there is no K-1 GP or K-1 Max game on these new consoles. You would have to think Japan & Korea would be one of the biggest gamer markets in the world, I thought they would have capitalised on this for sure.

I still find myself playing the old K-1 GP game on PS1 a fair bit, such a fun game. This UFC game looks pretty impressive too.

It does certainly look awesome, but other games have also looked awesome and sucked. The big problem with games like this is that it is such a dynamic sport that the game engines have struggled to replicate the sport itself and do it justice. The Pride game looked great for it's time, but it was ridiculously flawed. Minotauro winning with one punch knockouts? Please.

It will be interesting to see how they get around this, I hope that it is good, but I have my doubts at the moment.

The game is a turd. It's been available for download online for almost a week now, 3 days at least at the major trackers. The bug/errors thread over at the game developer (THQ) forum is already like 35 pages deep.

Brief list of issues with the game:

- Game mechanics are truly horrible. Apart from looking nicer (Much nicer), it’s virtually as awefull as all the previous UFC games in about every possible way. How on earth all this time and money went into this game & it’s still not even as close to as good a game that PrideFC was on the old Playstation 2, is just mind boggling.

- The hit-box and movement of the characters is clunky and awkward, it’s hard to describe just how much of a bad job they have really done. The characters still ice-skate around the ring as opposed to moving, every takedown attempt is a strange looking superman dive (unless you clinch - which looks like an underhanded groin & ass grope) & every shoot can be countered by the knee/uppercut that miraculously lands perfectly and stuns/ko’s the opponent. Characters limbs pass through each others body with no damage when in striking range, yet when outside striking range, you can kick near your opponent and hurt them – or KO them by your toes touching them, or in most cases - cause a KO without your character actually landing the strike)??? Also, no need for jabs/crosses and striking combinations (Not that you can actually throw combinations, anyway) - you just need to do a “superman” punch at any time in the game to KO your opponent…

- Grappling and G’n'P is a total disgrace. It’s still move for move the EXACT same mechanics as the 2003 version of the game *Face-palm* - but with an added "twist your analogue stick till it snaps clean off" requirement, if you dont just want to button mash like crazy. Anyone who played the older versions of the UFC game will begin to see how obvious that this is a poorly done port of the older game, with nicer graphics.

- The same stupid stuff that plagued the old versions of the game, such as fighters heads rocking back when hit in the body (and vice-versa), grappling being robotic & retarded, shoots being superman dives, strikes being anything but fluid movement – or having the ability to even throw real combinations - it’s all still there.

- I don’t care if the game has 2, 20 or 200 real fighters, nor that it looks shiny in slow motion replays. The mechanics and actual gameplay are complete & utter garbage. Fight Night Round 4 will bend this game over and **** it harder than George Lucas did to Indiana Jones fans, with his latest Indy movie. I strongly advise people play the demo themselves to see how garbage this is, so they don’t get fooled in to paying money for the actual game. As much as i HATE ****** EA Sports, Fight Night Round 4 will easily EASILY **** all over this game. Even Fight Night Round 3 is still easily light-years ahead of this game & i’m not really even in to boxing.

We played the demo over and over for 3 hours BEST GAME!!!!!
Liddell's chin is insane in the game lol. Took about 20 of
shoguns jumping knees.

I've been playing the demo for about a week or two now and the game rocks.
Lol they messed up with Chucks character though, he's got a six pack in the game, other than that the graphics are great.
Only gripe i had was with the collision detection, ocasionally strikes land without looking like they actually hit the opponent.
Still a frickin awesome game though, Fight night rnd 4 looks the goods aswell from the clips i've seen.
Two new games for my catalogue definately.

But then again ps3 or xbox360 aint gonna cook you dinner or have sx with you. As i'm sure many men have heard before that are in relationships.

Basic list of complaints at the developers forum, from game owners (These problems are not found in games like Fight Night R3 & PrideFC for the PS2 - which are games in excess of 2 or 3 years old)

- No "chin" or "cut" rating..... apparently fighters aren't susceptible to Arlovski style Glass Jaws or Diaz style scar tissue?
- The game has a serious bug where if your mouthguard comes out, you get knocked out. Even if you didn't actually get hit???
- KO's happen at any time, ridiculously easily & from any position. Yet you cant sink a submission unless your opponents stamina is completely gone???
- Create a fighter needs more options and some kind of fix with the nickname situation
- Updated Lineup desperately needed (No fighters like Randy Couture, Clay Guida, Vitor Belfort, Carlos Condit, Shane Carwin, etc... ????)
- Blood and cuts magically heal between rounds..... completely.
- Fighters all have the exact same stance, movement & motions.
- Career mode needs to be longer & way more in-depth. Instead you have a set retirement age (Maybe why Randy wasn't included in the game?)
- I believe that button mashing and stick circling should be eliminated from the game entirely.
- Whenever two fighters are engaged in a struggle (Submissions, takedowns), the outcome should be based on a fighters individual stats, Fatigue, damage taken (ie; leg shots on takedowns), etc.... Instead - it's still purely up to button mashing. People who play online who own Turbo-controllers are going to be unbeatable at this game, because sinking a submission still comes down to who can mash those buttons the quickest - regardless of the stick turning option.
- No ability to slow down or speed up the game clock. The longest a fight lasts in real time is 7 minutes. As opposed to other fighting games like Fight Night & others, where a real fight can last a real amount of time (An epic 30 minutes if you want).
- No effective transition system for the clinch & no ability to stop a slam, if the slam is timed properly. You cant just move backwards, wiggle out, overhook & side-step, or buck out - you just get your ass slammed.
- Fighters don't sweat during the fight - only during the cut scenes between rounds.
- No option to grease up if your GSP & facing a legit opponent. No option to have your mother corner you & verbally bash your opponent, if your BJ Penn.
- A fighters technique is a part of the stats system, but has no bearing on the outcome of a fight what so ever. You can just up the brute strength and speed stats to wear your opponent quicker, because without 90% of your opponents energy gone - you cant slam or submit them to win a fight. It's completely retarded.

Online:
- Players who quit a ranked match during the game (when they get KO'd) don't get a loss & aren't penalized (Hellooooo 1990's flashbacks to re-setting the Super Mario Kart game when i was about to lose!).
- You can see your online opponents record as you enter a fight, which is leading to people not wanting to fight you if you have a better record & they quit out the game, causing you up to a 5-minute wait just to get another online bout up & going. VERY frustrating when this keeps happening to you 3 or 4 times in a row.
- No online option for camps, clans or region specific groups.
- The scorecards at the end of a fight are displayed on screen before the winner is announced or recorded, in online games. This results in opponents just quitting a few seconds before the announcement & you've totally just wasted all that time & effort beating someone online. Then the cheating deuchebag kiddies mock you over VIOP at the same time ***Blood Boils***.
- There's people online already who have Rickson Gracie records of like 400-1, because they are using turbo controllers to win via unstoppable takedown & submission, over and over.

Striking:
- Because the game lacks an intelligent button layout (i.e. - Fight Night Round 3), there is no individual buttons for individual types of punches & kicks. Instead, the game "interprets" what strike should be thrown & you end up throwing hooks & elbows from 4 meters away at no-one, then missing wild haymakers when directly in front of your opponent. The person in charge of doing this to the game needs to be fired.
- Leg kicks don't actually cause real damage & cant stop a fight / cause a stoppage.
- Leg kicks dont unbalance a fighter or cause them to miss a takedown attempt if you land one, when an opponent is shooting, or has overextended a punch/kick.
- No ability to kick down / knock an opponent to the floor with a teep kick / sweep / knee / low kick.
- No southpaw stance
- Punches and kicks go through the body and head & don't register, then punches that miss by a meter cause knockouts. For f*&k sake - FIX THIS.
- No ability to catch, dodge, bob, weave or duck a punch/kick. You either block with your hands - or you get hit.
- You cant counter-strike a flying knee (Arlovski well and truly disproved this theory in a fight). You just block it, or you get ko'd.
- You can only throw one type of elbow & from the same single angle each time.

Grappling:
- No matter how much damage you inflict with G'nP (Which is a ridiculously small amount) - there is a small time limit to how long you can be on someone, or doing G'n'P before your stood up. Your not stood up for a lack of action - your just stood up after like 5 seconds of G'n'P or being on top of someone on the ground.
- Basic positions of movement & grapple have not changed since the 2003 Playstation version of this game.
- No option to not tapout & take injury/damage to escape bad submissions. You just get stuck and tap out like your a UFC 1 opponent of Royce Gracie's.
- Submissions cause no harm???
- Total lack of submissions (including basics like head/arm triangle, D'arce, anaconda choke, standing sub attempts, Triangles from different angles, etc...)
- NO ability to chain submissions, or set up sweeps & reversals with submission-fakes.

Almost all the people who have played the demo love it. It may have flaws but what game doesn't.How can you say that Pride FC on ps2 is better than this game. That game was complete shiithouse. Anyway, if you love the demo I'm sure the actual game won't be worse than the demo. I'm still gonna buy it and I think most people will too. We'll all find out how good or bad it really is soon.

yeah I know they all have something wrong with them i.e when you shoot some1 in the head in gta it disappears.... hahaha.
anyway yeah I was talking in regards to stuff like being ko'd when the opponent misses. I get what ur sayin though. anyway UFC should improve in the future if they continue making them as all games in the sports category advance with each release.

Its ok, but it really lacks options though. A career mode, exhibition and historic fights. Why have 80 fighters without options to take them through a tournament or career, only using them in an exhibition fight? Have I missed something?
