just wondering what excuses people have been given to them as a reason for there opponents pulling out of a fight, or even what excuses have you given for pulling out of a fight.

(by excuses i mean, reasons other then injury/illness)

ok ill kick start it off, i had an opponent pull out because there stars/moons were not aligned.

I Had a guy pull out in 2001,two days before the fight because he forgot that he had his cousins wedding.Even in that was the case he should have lied and said something better than that

I remember reading on here about someone pulling out because he got sun burnt in QLD...That must be one of the best

I recall a promoter thinking he had been lied to about an injury so he checked up and found the supposedly cut hand was the opposite one to that stated on the medical record.

a few years ago there was a fighter in qld who pulled out cause his missus didn't want him to fight

I had a fighter not make weight at weigh in and couldn't hang around to cut because he had to go to a Garbage concert with his missus. Turned out he really wasnt interested in fighting cos they offered him another opponent and he turned that down too.

this would be a legitimate excuse if the fighters were under 18.

but for everyone else it just seems weak, unless it was a fighter's mums dying wish or the mum made the fighter promise not to fight anymore by wearing a jade pendant in a foreign country to work in an ice factory (the big boss);)[:o)]
