Good luck to Russel "the muscle" Brambley if he happens to get a fight. He has had three pull outs by opponents in the past four preperations and is chomping at the bit to knock somebodies block off. His scheduled opponent Thomasz Wojkowsi again withdrew for the second time in six months (within 4 days of the fight). Very disappointing for somebody who is meant to be a main event fighter- how many excuses can be used within a week of fight night? Anyway, good luck to Russel if he ever happens to get a fight- he is a gentleman and win, lose or draw would make alot of people proud to be still in there and banging away at 78 years old (or there abouts)..

P.S- if anybody gets cut with my reference to his opponent then dont bite at me- my trainer told me to write it!! and trust me, i have watered it down :)

Great to see Russel Brambley finally matched. A big thanks from our gym to Joe and aaron for taking the fight on short notice. Aaron is an exciting prospect and will be a huge task for Russel but Russ is super fit and pumped to go. Good luck to both guys

Big dissapointed for Stuart Palmer as Hiep Nyugen could not get within 2kg of fight weight.

Stuart has worked so hard the last couple of weeks and was looking so forward to this fight too.

Aren't the guys fighting in a weight catagory? Or did you organise a 'catch-weight?' Shame to miss out on all that training for a couple of kgs, although Hiep does have a big experience lead over Stu. Was Hiep given the option of losing it and weighing in again?

I don't think Hiep can lose 2kg though. what's Hiep record and his normal fighting weight? Would be good to see Stuart against Tom Murray again. I enjoyed that fight.

it was a hard call, there was no way Hiep was going to weigh in less, he when't for a run in a sweat suit and lost 100g he was cut as low as possible.

Stu is growing up and filling out a bit, this would have been his last fight at 55kg, it was an agreed weight double checked last week as Hiep had weight problems in Darwin.

Stu cut weight and made 55.5 we could have still fought given a couple of kilo's but gee's at a guess Hiep is 59kg when he is fit and probably walks around at 65kg so he probably out weighs Stu by nearly 7 - 8 kg its a lot when your a little bloke hey! and 7 fights Vs 17 fights given the weight is to far of an advantage for Hiep.

Stu can put on a few KG and fight Hiep later in the year.

Still spewing and think we have made the best decission, Stu is family..

Matt Hiep was out of the weight catorgory, Stu stepped up one and Hiep was still in the next one.
