View Full Version : Danny Green: And he bags Mundine?

Morning All,
Seriously - Who is the "GREEN" machine trying to fool?
a - Rigged/Staged/Choreographed fight against Stipe Drews
b - fake retired (in realisation he would get his ass smashed in a mandatory defense fights)
c - comes back and pretends he is all for the australia cause (anazac spirit talk , blood sweat tears talk) and all this bull dust bravado.
and last but not least, fights a total Water Melon last night..
Gees we have a dumb general public. For us with a trained fighting eye we can only see how much of Danny Green is real, or crap.
And we bag Mundine?
Seriously...

Green has never been good. He made a career off being white Australia's alternative to a loudmouth trash talking black guy. He is Australia's version of Mickey Ward, although Arturo Gatti isn't even as close to being as talented as Mundine.

Promo, would you put Hopoate and the other various Leagies in that category too?
I kind of have to agree with Rocky, the boxing public demonstrates the bottom percentile of intelligence in Aust when it continually gets fleeced by these sorts of fighters and perpetually sub-par matchups.

Lucky there is a bonafide banger on Sunday. I have never been so pumped for a fight ever. Has anyone caught the 24/7 series? They keep getting better with every fight.

Voice,
Just being satirical as ever I agree with rocky too the boxing public sure are being taken for a ride these days. Sadly they are being parted with thier hard earned cash also when they are going to see these shows.[:0][:0][:0][:0]

Hey Hironaka where can you watch the 24/7 series? I saw an episode of it in the lead up to the Pacquio/ De La Hoya, and loved it. Is it available online somewhere? Thanks in advance.
It will be an epic fight, I'm picking the Pacman, but I think it will be a hell of a fight for him.

24/7 series is the best. Has anyone noticed that from the last series that Freddy Roach has seemed to gotten worse in his health.
Can still do pads like a demon...
Floyd Snr is a crazy mofo!!

It's on Fox Sports, look out for episode three on Thursday or Friday night maybe.
Roach seems up and down. There were times throughout the Pacman/Oscar series where he looked like he was about to fall apart. The way that he works pads though is an art in itself.
Floyd is Floyd, that scene is episode two where he was ordering the taco was unintentionally hilarious.

We have to be clear that boxing works very different to Thaiboxing match making to the point where boxers need to protect their records or miss the big opportunities. Its a bit more strategic than thai boxing.
Green is a good fighter ranked at 4th in the world at light heavy.
Rocky, when green was about to fight for a world title who would you have chosen for him? Tarver said no, chad dawson was on a 2 year suspension for smoking weed and Stipe and bernard hopkins were his only options. Speaking of Stipe drews, he was the world champ no matter if he was good or bad he had the belt. Would you turn the fight down?
I definitely think the retirement was planned for hype reasons and I think Van Niekurk was/is useless but it is a fight to shake the rust. However I do think he needs to get a big scalp in his next fight possibilities are clinton woods or zsolt erdie.
I dont think salas was good for green, no defence at all and an old school heavy training approach for a 35 year old body.

When Green won the WBA belt, I wanted Briggs to have one more crack at the crown. Green-Briggs would've been good, but Briggs would've won imo.

Oh i had that same wish supermario!!!!
Briggs would smash Green, no problems...
I would like to pay for these main events to suport aussie boxing but they charge $50 to have **** match ups like green vs van nierk and mundine vs taxi drivers its a joke.
i paid only 29.95 for darchinyan vs arce great fight and pac vs hatton is only 39.95 how does that work?
aussie boxing is a joke at the moment!

Greens retirement/comeback hype is to keep his career alive until he and Mundine fight again for a pay day once they are both washed up, this has been established.

you'd better hope your boy Geale beats Mundine then else he mightn't get his first payday.

I agree, and pending the undercard will be a good local event to view live.

The likes of Rob Medley will be on the undercard. And theres always your Novelty sideshow footballer (Sonny Bill Williams) to keep everyone amused.
