I have had an ongoing injury to my ankle for a few years now, I tore the ligaments in it a few years back plus sprained the same ankle about 18 months ago. Its not easy to run without strapping it up but sometimes when I remove the strapping my ankle gives me alot of grief and I find it hard to walk and limp for the rest of the day, especially if I sit down for half an hour and get up to walk again, or when I wake up and walk its at its worst and I limp real bad until my ankle warms up a bit?
Is there anyone who has been through this before and may be able to give me some advice on how to cope with it better??? Would physio help too???
I used to have pretty bad ankles at one stge I used to sprain them just walking let alone running, then I was how to strap them properly and did that for a year or so each and every time I did any sort of training. After a while I started training without strapping and now I dont strap at all.

lots of info
Hi Elyepsm, I have similar but minor pains with my ankles however about 2 weeks ago I sprained my ankle very severly to the extent I couldn't even walk on it for about 2 days. The physio was a great help, I was back at training literally in days. I would highly recomend going to a good physio, they have all these tools like balancing boards and a whole lot more tools to help strengthen the ankle.
Make sure that if you do visit a physio, you go to a good one however I strongly reccomend going, even if its just to find out what exercises you should do to strenthen the muscles around the ligaments.

Yep, physio will show you how to do it properly and give you good advice (only if they are a good physio of course).
I am always twisting and hurting my ankles, and I have a great way to strap them up whenever the need arises. The site Dynamite Drew put up is very good also
