I would have put him on my show and helped him rasie money. I'd rather see him fight Muay Thai. and i needed someone at that weight.

I don't think the show is raising money. Shannon is giving his earnings to his friend Luke Kempson.

I wont delete what I wrote, because that would be dishonest but I take back my words.

If this is the case, I admire Shannon even more now! I knew he was a humble and down to earth guy when I met him but this just made me admire him even more.

He said he had now found some inner peace with his spiritual practices but he is walking the walk if he's going out on such a limb for a mate.

Wow... who would do that? Put their own health, well being and safety at risk just to support a friend in need.

I hope because of his noble intention he get's more than just a win.

IK is crazy if they don't do a piece on this.

I'm blown away!

the intent is honourable but the logic is questionable. As Jabout implies, why do something that you have little idea about and will probably get a spanking when you could just as easily spend a day in the office (fighting MT) for the same ends. I just hope the intent isn't to tap out after 30 secs against a decent opponent and leave all the punters in a tizz. But as you say Wes, he certainly should be applauded for putting his neck on the line to help a friend.

quote:XFC & its full roster of athletes are also extremely proud to announce that the event shall see a huge fundraising effort for fallen warrior Luke KEMPSON of Mandurah WA. When approached by Shannon ‘F16’ FORRESTER, XFC jumped at the chance to help raise money for his long term friend & former Muay Thai champion Luke, who is facing the greatest battle of his life in walking again, after a near fatal car accident in Thailand.

True Neale but Jason said "He would have" as in, if he knew and I'm sure likewise from what we can understand, if Shannon also knew, he may have accepted.
However, who knows what he's being paid and perhaps this suits his needs and being part of the whole even of fund raising for his mate as Scotya pointed out may be even more motivation.

I know how much Shannon is fighting for but I hope he gets more? XFC only pay a HUGE amount of cash if your a BIG BIG BIG name. Maybe the angle is getting the Muay Thai community to come along and support 'Bomber' but the Supremacy is on the same night.

Shannon is the better striker, so he needs to knock him out fast!

the show is still on. my fighter Leamy Tato is fighting Soa hulk paleilei on it as the main event tonight.Strange there is very little publicity on the web. Maybe Justin has spent all of his advertising dollars in perth?

The show is on at challenge stadium (subiaco) tonight. They've been running a few radio advertisements for the show over the last few weeks I've noticed.

Yes Scottya, Battle Extreme 2 has been cancelled. Maybe it's just going to be postponed till a later date? Not entirely sure but the original plan has been scrapped.

Shannon did well, unfortunately he was stopped late in the first round by a head kick, didn't drop him but rocked him and the ref called the fight off. The fight went to the canvas pretty quick as we expected Brian would shoot early to avoid standing toe to toe with Shannon. None the less it was good to see him get in there and have a crack at MMA, Real proud of you Shannon :). Congratulations to Brian on the win and a big thankyou to all the lads from Odines Gym for all your help and support.

Luke Kempson is a great guy and a talented athlete. Many haven't heard much him in Australia because he did most of his fighting in Thailand where he lived for more than ten years. He fought some big names including Jomhod in his prime.
Good to see his mates trying to help and support him recover after his terrible accident.
He has a long battle ahead of him and i wish him the best of luck.
