I'm not so concerned with where kickboxing is going, but I'm worried with the direction Muay Thai is heading in Victoria. Let's hope someone gets behind the sport down here so we can give Queensland a go.

The shows that Tarik puts on are they all under K1 rules?? Has he ever had any shows with full Muay Thai rules???

Tariks has had shows with full thai rules. Well he had at least one show that was based on full thai rules being the Australia vs Thailand show a few years ago. But he has had full thai fights on several other shows but not on a regular basis especially of late. Most of the victorians like me prefer kickboxing/k-1 rules to MT.

really!? Is it just a personal preference to watch kickboxing with k1 rules to full thai rules?? Here in QLD it seems shootboxing is becomming bigger. I think I would rather prefer with full thai rules though. I would imagine it would be a much cleaner fight in the aspect of not being able to use elbows and hence not getting any nasty cuts on the head.

I don't know that kickboxing needs to be "going" anywhere, Kickboxing is already strong in Melb and Sydney. The weakness in these states is the lack of Thai boxing. Like Glenn, I think Muay Thai should be built up a lot more in Victoria. For guys like myself in VIC, we love MT and we really see bugger all of it down here, which is a shame. Don't get me wrong I still like Western Kickboxing, but I still prefer Muay Thai.

In regards to Tarik's shows, I think he could move forward by having better matched up undercard fights WITH better quality fighters! Also throw some Thai Boxing into the mix and he will have my attention again!

Scida shows have been having at least one MT fight lately.
