Awesome Card Joe. Some great match ups.
Great to see 5 FTR fights....
Harold Olsen, WOW... how long since he's been active?
Aaron v Jeff Elrahi will be a slugfest
And we get to see Cales in VIC...[:p], taking on Nicole...
How about Laurie Nandex v one of the Turkish fighters that was rumoured at your last show, would Erkan take the fight ??
Credit to you Joe for bringing in quality fighters from all over the country....:D
Nader
10-10-2008, 06:22 PM
Hey Bushi the Turkish boys wont jump in the ring with Laurie
I tried that last time and he pulled out on me.
But never mind got some good fights on.
Anyone would like to take on Laurie step right up.
Bushi
10-10-2008, 06:41 PM
Yes I was aware Joe, I thought they might have trained up for it this time...but then again after seeing Laurie, I guess we won't see them this time either...
How about Steve Moxon, isn't he around 70kg's.
Anyway, credit to you, some great match ups...

Going to be another great show - a great venue at Moonee valley. Got our tickets already.
Nader

Hi Ghost unfortunately Erkan pulled out on me.
Bushi the guys would never give me someone like Moxon for my show but i do recall i gave them Laurie for there show,
but its all good mate.
Its a pleasure CL looking forward to having you here.
Pira your always in early for the tickets and your right its a great venue.
Bushi
10-10-2008, 10:11 PM
Here's hoping Joe you can get a quality local fighter for Laurie.
Cales, is Harold training out of Riddlers, if so, can you enlighen me (the forum) as to his record and last time he was in the ring...
Saw Rosco, Nicole & Michael tonight, they're all looking forward to the show..great to see 300 back in there..
Rickstar
10-10-2008, 11:04 PM
from what i heard Jo- Moxon was ready to fight Laurie up until a week ago (unsure of what show) but was just told the fight was a no go from Laurie's end. It may have been organised to fight on Scida's show, im unsure but Moxon was definately training for Laurie, i know that for a fact...

sick mad card will b there for sure vic will be very impressed with caley she is awsome meet her at riddlers when i was in perth a few weeks back and she is a very very cool chick wish her the best of luck and will be down there cheering her on for sure
Hey Bushi
Harald has had 30something fights - had his last one in thailand a few weeks ago. Fought a good hard fight against a thai with 150+ fights. Haralds got great technique due to the length of time hes trained so i know it will be a good fight.
Thanks Macca - it was good to meet ya in Perth :) And ill listen for your cheering, someones gotta back WA[:p]

Finally Caley Lewis in Melbourne, worth the ticket price alone.
I'll be there at this show!
Joe, were'nt you planning a big show at Melbourne Town hall to finish off the year? Mind you, Moonee Valley is a great venue and can pack in a big crowd. I am guessing the Town Hall was planned as a more central lcoation. Perhaps you can fill us in on what may be planned in 2009.

Wow, good card, can't decide which of the 2 main events is better...
Sorry Joe, would have been a great match at 70kg. Just caught up with uni commitments around that time. All the best with the show mate

Nader
14-10-2008, 02:55 PM
Hi Warrick, good luck with the exams mate and hope to get you on next year.Daz i think the main event has to go to the AUST title fight 300 vs Vice, I see Caley has a few fans here then again why wouldn't she, Rickstar how are you mate,Im sure that Moxon was training for Laurie but that wasn't confirmed by me,i got a call from the West and i said that Lauire will not be here.Ive given them Laurie before how about i get Moxon for my show.$$$???.
Bushi i will match Laurie he is a very exciting fighter to watch.
Thanks guys keep em coming

Hi Joe,
Can you please answer my question about Melb. Town Hall show and any plans for 2009?
What's happening with Sarah and Mark Lucente, no match-ups for this show?
Nader
14-10-2008, 05:50 PM
Hi John, the reason we are not going to the MELB Town Hall is we had Erkan vs Kakarikos scheduled but Unfortunately Erkan pulled out because he didnt want to fight anymore this year.Sarah has some big plans happening with her acting, we are also looking forward to some big things happening for Sarah overseas which i cant discuss. As for Marc he has had a bit bad luck with injury and im not prepared to risk him.So we thought lets stick to the Moonee Valley for this one
Turkmen
14-10-2008, 06:26 PM
Hey nader, he was injured pretty bad, thats why yildiz didnt want to fight. cheerz :D:D
Bushi
14-10-2008, 06:31 PM
What about your other mates to fight Laurie, what happened with the last match up, are they ready & willing this time??
Nader
14-10-2008, 07:23 PM
Hey Turkmen i always said im a big fan of Erkan but ive been let down twice by him and once by Kamil. That does not look good mate.
John Cav
15-10-2008, 04:59 PM
Thanks for the insight Joe, you are doing wll with your promotions and I look forward to you moving to Melb. Town Hall.
This is not a criticism of Moonee Valley, which is a fantastic venue, particularly for those of us that live on this side of town. The Town Hall being so central gives you better exposure and also attracts the fans living further away that might not want to travel to Moonee.
Sounds like Sarah is doing well outside of fighting and I hope Mark's injury is nothing too serious.
Say Hi to Greg for me and I look forward to the show.
Cheers.

Good luck Caley,
It would be good to get there and cheer you, Harold and Oliver on and fly the W.A. flag , but unfortunately ... or actually fortunately actually;) my better half has organized a romantic weekend away ...
Lucky I think she is a bit of an allright otherwise I have cancelled !! Ha ha ha (S*** I hope sho doesnt read this)
Seriously though , good luck and go hard girl !
On Oliver Olsen ... I remember Oliver years ago , and he was a bit of a gun like all the Olsens. Good tip for anyone... If the last nime is Olsen and the fight is Muay Thai, They are going hard awkward and good.
I was talking to Harold a few Months ago at a Battle Colossal night in Perth, and he was still looking hard as nails aswell.
Should be a good night !
Good luck to everyone involved

Hi Chris, it is a step up for Nick but full credit to him he said he wants to fight the best fighters and he put his hand up to fight Mike because Daniel needs a knee reco. I wish there was more fighters like him. Dont underestimate him he is a tough bot

Im told Daniel has done his knee and will need a reco.
so Nick has put his hand up,his record im not sure of but i have seen him fight and i found him very impressive. i think he has had 8-10 fights
ChrisQ
03-11-2008, 04:23 PM
Yeh I think Nick proved after his fight with Kenny, that he can match it with Victoria's best at middleweight.
However IMO Michael Demetriou is far and above the level of Victoria's best middleweights.
But good on Nick for stepping up and grabbing an opportunity like this, they don't come around too often.

GO NIC can't wait to see the WKA AUSTRALIAN belt be st****d around your waist
Hahahahaha shutdown1 your confusing me :(
All you have talked about is West Australian fighters especially the girls and in particular certain fighters, you wished me luck on another thread for the title hoping that "i would be crowned", you know about the west australian promoters but now your living in Melbourne, seen Nicole Brolan training and wishing her luck.
"wish you all the best in that bout im certain you will be crowned." but now your wishing her luck???
"pmoney i noticed you call out yusha for a re-match,did he accept? i think it a very wise move as the victory over you i believe was just a lucky/fluke. i had you in front.p.s those girls could'nt dance for sh*t maybe next time try having them strip!"

I see you conveniently left out all the other valid reasons she said why she wouldn't want the rematch with that "certain fighter" - if you're going to try make a point at least lay all the facts out on the table instead of just keeping the ones that make your post look good.

WITT. what valid reasons? "friends": mauy thai is a competative SPORT, where yes fighters do become friends as they have earnt each others respect though the fighters do their chosen sport for 1 reason and you seem to forget..that is to compete against another in the "SPORT" TO SEE HOW FAR THEY CAN PUSH THEMSELVES AGAINST AN EQUAL INDIVIDUAL. step aside and let someone have the opertunity that they deserve if a person wishes not to fight.
BUSINESS: well, what can i say? the word says it itself! BUSINESS witt is to show the people of perth and australia MUAY THAI, the best quality of fighters and to make $$$ so why not do it? if not then why not join all gyms together and have a social gathering/spar-fight show and share the "LOVE"? WE PAY GOOD $ to come to the shows which are heading like the other shows! so is it a COMPETITIVE SPORT or NOT??

I think you're being a bit melodramatic mate :P
If the girls and trainers feel uncomfortable doing it, that fighting that person will create some unnecessary tension or hassle between the two promoters (which in turn could upset/hinder the promotion itself), at the end of the day friendship is more important than business or what one disgruntled fan thinks is owed to him, especially if there are plenty of other girls out there for them both to fight, which there are.
There are so many other girls out there for them to fight, why dont you just get behind the WA girls instead of trying to make Cales look like the bad guy and push for more fights from over east? id rather see them beat up some easterners than each other ;)
Enough on that, this convo is pretty much going nowhere anyway. Agree to disagree, easy.
Now, on to the main point... which round do we think will Harold stop Eh? ;)

I honestly think no fighter can stop Eh inside the distance, maybe win on points like Charles August and Boom Boom did, but KO to TKO him, that'd be something to see. I hope he proves me right in the next hour or so...

Want to thank Joe for his hospitality, was a great show and I had a ball and all the fights were exciting. I took a girl friend of mine who had never been to a fight show and she is now addicted, wants to see more Muay Thai!

Congrats to Cales and espeically Harold on their wins!
Some great fights last night, couple of up and comers to look out for, Aaron Goodson looked sharp against a tough Jeff Elrahi, I thought that Jeff would actually be a bit too strong but Aaron dropped him twice with nice leg catch, punch combos.
Adam Galetta is a machine scary machine, started a bit slowly for about 10 seconds then as Shiv would say he let loose with the big BOK CHOI, about 5 of them, his opp was down for a good 5 minutes. Nicole and Caley battled for the whole 5 rounds, Caley is fast becoming a very popular fighter around the country, she has the looks, the skill and now a new title belt. Then Harold Olsen, the guy turns 36 next week and had a wicked six pack, totally ripped, Eh Photoung has torn through most of his opponents in short time usually 1st, 2nd round until he met someone from the Olsen family, (and its a big family 3 brothers, a cousin and a girlfriend all training Muay Thai). I was very impressed with Harold and hopefully we'll see a bit more of him.
Full report will be in the next issue International Kickboxer due in stores soon.

Daz,
From where I was standing Harold was too strong with his hands for Eh.
Outboxed him badly. 3 or 4 unanswered combinations on Eh and then the corner threw in the towel.

It was not Eh night he wasn’t feeling right. He said he had no energy and his reaction was very slow. He didn’t look right and we had to throw in the towel. Any way I am sure these two old Veterans will meet again before they retire.

Eh fight against Perry didn't last very long only 2 rounds. He came out with no injuries. He just looked so slow and sloppy. He wasn't in the fight zone his mind was some where else.

Joe,
You are a true gentleman and your offer is very much appreciated.
I have already noted the 14th March 2009 in my diary.
The show was great, well run, finished at a reasonable time, and the venue is perfect. General tickets got a great view particularly on the left hand side under the screens, virtually 1 table away from the ring.
Powerplay is going from strength to strength. Was the 1st time I saw Adam Galleta fight, he is a machine!
Looking forward to 2009. Joe, don't forget to match Gem on a show nect year.
