i believe in thailand , the higher ranked fighter fights from red corner
same in boxing , the higher ranked / champion fights from red corner
also , with interstate/international fights , quite often the hometown fighter will fight from red corner and visiting fighter from blue corner

so who would win rank, or hometown, if a fighter from say Brissy, took on a world champ from NSW, in Brissy.

would never happen Russ, NSW have NO world champs to take in QLD's Muay Thai World Champs...;):D
Gunna go get me some popcorn now and sit back and wait..
Also would it depend on the promoter etc, cos ALL EVO Aussie fighters came from the red...

no scotty, they'd just be split in the 2 teams... red and blue
and I agree with Mat, red always goes faster either to the victory or to the canvas ;)

Red, white and blue corners come from the English Union Jack as part of the Marquis Of Queensbury rules. Red being the superior colur due to being the centerpeice St George and St Patrick cross' of the Union Jack.
When Muay Thai adopted Western boxing equipment to conduct bouts it carried this through.

i thought it was a nsw (blue) vs qld (red) thing. You know, derived off the state of origin. The queenslanders all puffing on cones in the crowd.

I too like the white corner and im a fighter;)
But i dont mind what colour i fight out of. Red is the superior colour and blue is my favourite. Also red means stop as in stop the guy in the red corner.
