It's great to go and see a live show and even better when you can watch it again on tv a few weeks later.

Hey macca, superboi was about 66kg, he was here in Melbourne for 3/4 months training at ultimate Airport West. he has now gone back to Thailand but he said he does want to come back soon.

Brilliant event, top notch!! a smörgåsbord of class.

Does Superboi do refereeing as well as fight? as he resembles I Thai ref I've seen recently.

two observations I made after watching it live and then again last night.

1. I was wondering if preacher had a leg injury of some kind or one that prevented him from kicking? Sean was clearly outboxing him after the 2nd round and yet Preacher kept trying to box. I think if Preacher had used his fast kicks at range instead of hands, the fight might have been different.

2. JWP was HUGE compared to jaba (sp). The fight on contender was closer because JWP had to stay around 72 the hold time and so didn't bulk up after the weigh in. For this fight, JWP was taller, thicker across the shoulders, wider across the body, and his legs looked huge in comparison. JWP got caught with quite a few short left hooks that came inside his own punches, but there was not enough weight for it affect him. He monstered jaba this time.

3. Eli was farkin quick this time. He seems to get faster each time I see him. I would have liked to see Eli vs Sean or Jaba but the matches for EVO 15 look cool too.

Hi Rob,
In the Contender house I was walking around 82kg, when it was time to fight I would cut to 73.5 in 16 hours. Last nights fight was the same, four weeks out I was 86kg, I weighed-in on Nuggets scales at 71.5 and was back to 82kg leaving home to the stadium the next day. I think Jabba weighed in around 71kg but thats he's walking around weight so wouldnt have got any bigger. Just goes to show the size of Jabba's ticker, not afraid to mix it with the bigger fella's.

thanks for the reply wayne. I have to say you looked HUGE compared to jabba this time. much bigger than on the contender for sure. I would have thought you would have stayed much lighter with the chance of having to weigh in on one days notice??

Wow, there would be a real art to cutting weight like that. Sounds dangerous, but I guess its just part of your profession.

Wow i did not think you cut that much weight the day before JWP, i thought you'd do probably 4 kg max the day before.

Also why doesn Zidov fight at 72.5 kgs, Eli looked soo much bigger than Zidov.
I remember on the show Stephan Fox mentioned that Zidov is too light as well, wouldnt it be better for him to drop down?

Great night of fights, Eli is just a machine, and wow can that superboi front kick! I thought the results from the Contender fighters were interesting - Sean showed he deserved to get as far as he did and I reckon JWP wiped out any questions about the result between him and Dzabar. Am requesting the weekend off for 15 right now!

But saw Waynes fight and it was awesome...

Hope there is a replay soon?!

now I believe all the rumours about the WA'ers being a bit slower than the rest of us. still haven't worked out how to use the TV guide button or the timer function on the recorders [:p][:p][B)]

i honestly think JWP could easily take on alot of the super middleweights going around.. i dont think even eugene would walk around any heavier than 83..
cutting over 10kgs is intense! and then putting it back on in 24 hours.. crazy talk!! haha
