Guys, I am a big boxing fan, and decided to give kickboxing a go for about a year or so.

At the last second i decided to go last night - and that was the last straw.

No way will Tarik get another cent from me. Just a circus act really. As bad as boxings rep is, Ive never seen the promoter threaten the crowd like that.

Yea the decision sucked but Tarik is trying too hard to make a "name fighter" out of someone who simply hasnt got the talent. It was a farce but was half expected.

Tarik is clutching now IMO - he is running out of name fighters. K1 heavyweights are in a sad state, most boring fights going around.

For me, kickboxing will be limited to qld shows on foxsports i think.

You guys have got to do something. You do realise boxing fans have zero respect for this sport and after a year, i cant say much has changed for me.

Sure boxing has many downs, but I cant take this sport seriously at all.

Tony your views have merit - unortunately Tarik has a number of key fighters in his pocket
we need someone else - maybe a Seif or someone to take over and clean things up a little -
I wont let a winging pencil d i c k like Tarik stop me from going to watch, for example Zam take on Ozkan or JWP if it happens though - if we give up altogether we will never see them down her again

I have been a kickboxing fan since I could say it's introduction to Australia, and have been to many shows over the years.
Back in the days at Melb.Town Hall when the likes of Tony Quinn, Percy Lanciana, and George Zakaria pioneered the sport. Bob Jones promoted the early fights and in my opinion always achieved a creditable show with respect to the paying audience. If i saw a show with the BJC logo as the promoter I would not hesitate to return. John Scida has always provided enteratining fights, and lastly the one that really sticks out in my mind is Blitz. Whatever happened to their promotions? The last event which was a ripper i think was Rumble at the Radisson. This night is well remembered for the Vell v. Iosifidis fight.

Just some thoughts to chew over guys!

Glad I didn't go! I refuse to go to any of Tarik's shows now except for K-1 Max. I think Fox should cancel their agreement with Tarik and leave the choice of shows up to Mark and Michael. I think we would see much better shows that way. Tarik is getting worse with every show.

Hey Mehmet, just think one or two good fights a show aren't enough, especially for the money you pay to see his shows. At the present time there are many other promoters out there who put on shows that have both strong, well matched undercard bouts AND good main events and the funny thing is that these other promoters don't charge an arm and a leg like Tarik does.

Hi all! i'm a newbie to this forum but anyhow - I haven't been a kickboxing fan for long. I used to like boxing - I still do, and it was my dad that got me into kickboxing.

i was watching a Paul Briggs fight when my dad said that he did kickboxing once. i was amazed! a fighter like him doing kickboxing must have meant that there were mad ass kickboxers.

when i saw the JWP vs. Jenk fight, i got hooked. Anyway enough about me - i reckon that the only way Tarik will get a good show is if he makes a super show or something. what i mean is if he put all the great fighters in one show - Gurkan, Powerhouse Jacobs, JWP, Jenk, Zambidis, Greco, Stan, Watt, Hallford, Graham, Dawson, Chopper...

Put those fighters in a show and i reckon he will have everyone turning up - please forgive me if i missed some fighters!!

what do u guys think about all the critics giving him crap about the people he beats? is it reasonable? i mean do they really have to critise him after every fight? i reckon gurkan is gonna beat zambidis - it doesnt matter what rules they are or how long they fight for i reckon gurkan will win!

He has suprised a few people including myself in the last 12 months. Paul Fyfield has done wonders for him. I was impressed with his improved kicking skills in his fight against Stan.
