View Full Version : Is there anyone 59-61kg to fight Flip Street?
Hey everyone,
Having our show on the 13th of September and searching for anyone in Australia willing to fight 5x3 full Thai with Flipper. Will pay for flights for fighter and trainer and can talk about prize money over email.
Sea Fm is going to be all over our little show with Capper and Becks fighting a celebrity fight and should be a full house. While we got a good crowd be great to have a top main event to educate the public on what Muay Thai is all about. Also anyone wanting to fight without pads or with in south east Qld please email me also.
Thats guys.

Ha ha ha, thats funny fella's. Dylan Resnekov would be great as he is making waves now overseas fighting on the Jamaica promotion. WIll ring Mr Stone tomorrow.
I was going to say maybe Jeff Llanes considering their first match was pretty good and close...
Also like everyone else has mentioned, maybe Dylan, or Kevin Lay..

tomohawk and kevin would be good but fight at lighter weights.. same as luke amaraz (spelling). a fit mat "mighty" mctavish would be a good match. ta from five rings would be a good match, i know he has fought heavier, but he looks as if he could make that weight.. i know he is not as experienced, but ben tan really impressed me the other week up in noosa, so maybe down the track for that one. what about chris petrie again, i heard they had a good fight last time. after seeing flips performance on war on the shore, maybe he has run out of opponents in australia, maybe time for more internationals....

I know that Joel Fisher is dying to fight Flip again, unfortunately he has just gotten injured which is bringing him home from Thailand early. Maybe next time!

scottya mat holds the australian title for 61.5, pretty sure he could do that extra half a kilo....
joel fisher would be a good fight again but doesnt he fight a bit heavier.. what about that cory fella from melbourne, cant remember his last name. has flip fought him or is he still fighting..

matty is out due to injury but wil be fightin in nov on a war on the shore show!
I would like to thank Andrew Nelson and his fighter Boney Zankl for stepping up to the plate and taking the fight with Flipper. It should be a great main event with Thor vs Cedric as semi.
Looking forward to a huge day once again and going to try a few tweeks to give the venue even more of a fight atmosphere.
Hope to see you 13th September.

scottya obviously you have not seen boney fight. Before you start to stereotype him i suggest you watch him fight. Its not fare for anyone on here to stereotype a fighter because they step into the ring with a more well known fighter. Everyone talked brodie up and boney showed him the power of under estimation.
samkor
02-08-2008, 09:19 AM
kingwaa i dont think scottya was underestimating boney, or stereotyping him, his post was that people end up with stiches when they fight flip, and that is usually what happens. he did not say boney would smash flip and i dont think anyone has said anything negative at all. flip is a technical fighter and can use his elbows realy well. if you had of seen the thai last weekend then you would of seen the massive cut on the thai, and i do mean massive. i could not see a post on this thread that was negative, stereotyping or underestamating boney at all, so not sure what your post was about....

i havin seen boney fight but from the sounds of it he gave brodie one hell of a fight! but brodie isn in the same league as flip, flipper has beaten al the top fighter in aus. an dominating his thai opponent! so findin fighters for him in aust. is gonna be very hard! so international fighters is where it is out for flipper!! his a mini JWP as ppl like to say! boney better have some kind of a game plan to take on a flipper!
Good on Boney for stepping in with Flip anyway...its only going to make him a stronger fighter no matter what the decision.

i should of used a space or better grammer in that post. I was trying to say that everyone on here. Myself included always stereotype the lesser known fighter. I can imagine the trouble jwp has in finding fights for flip. But that does not mean this wont be a was. Im looking forward to it
Another WA vs QLD battle.......good luck to the Boneman and hell respect for stepping up to the challenge.

Sadly, so very true. Unfortunately, the better a fighter you are, the less people want to fight you. Take Carnage for example. Not 1 fight this year yet.

yea thats true very true russ! poor carnage an thats how the fight game is in some weights where there isn that much competition! but the 61 kg division is a busy one but not for flip as he is on top! so i can see alot of fighters from thailand an al those asian countries for flip that wil be great wars! if anyone seen flip fight last weekend he schooled the 200+ fighter, his jus a freak in that weight! wel done to flipper an keep up the good work mate!!!

macca83, just because flip has the aussie title does not mean that he has to defend it on this fight.. the way your post comes across you are making out like flip does not want to defend his title. i am sure flip would defend his title with anyone, but boney man is relatively unknown or an up and comer fighter.. why does he deserve a shot at the aussie pro title.. sorry i am not dissing boney man, but is this his first pro fight????? why should he get a crack at the title straight off.. by all acounts he is a good up and comer and yes did get the win over brodie smith, but that does not necessarily mean that he deserves a shot at the pro title.. maybe if he beats flip then yeah have a re match for it.....
spano
03-08-2008, 11:34 AM
yea boney may have beat brodie smith who holds the aussie Amatuer title, but brodie aint anywhere near as good as flip! unless urv seen flip fight then dont think his gonna beat flip, flip wil school him like he does everyone includin the thai with 200+ fights! unless u guys think boney cud take on a thai with 200+ fights then he realy has no chance! but it wil be a great test for him an wil see where his at in the aussie ranks! gotta alot of respect for the kid, does anyone no boneys fight record??
v_e_ka
03-08-2008, 12:53 PM
Boney has fought Chao from thailand before & chao has had 200+ thai fights plus around 50 boxing fights.
IMHO I think it will be a great test for boney, full credit for stepping up for this, but dont think he has the goods to beat flip at this stage,
And if I remember correctly, at the time he was only 16 years old.
ChrisQ
03-08-2008, 01:28 PM
Boney is no slouch and I wouldnt really consider him an up and comer either.
I think I remember seeing him fight on the Super 8 down here in Melb against the likes of Corey & Chris White.
Not sure on the record though, so happy to stand corrected.
spano
03-08-2008, 02:01 PM
im not sayin his a slouch but stil not in the same league as flip, but his stil got a long way to go in his career! flip is on a 10 or 11 match winning streak so its gonna be hard to break that now his on top!

im not saying that flip doesnt want to defend his title im saying i think he should because as far as i know and i may be wrong but he hasnt defended it yet.boney has fought a few thais with alot of fights i have been told and seen the dvd of a couple u never heard of him because wa gets no exposure on foxtel its all qld and qld fighters look at boom boom for exsample he has a wmc world title how many times have u seen him fight on fox?
spano
03-08-2008, 07:37 PM
iv never see boom boom fight ever an i really wanna see him fight, yea i no it sucks that qld gets al the exposure! but good for me haha yea flip hasn had a chance to defend it!! he was spose to defend it against ben spivak from melborne but ben pulled out! he also offered goerge groth a rematch for it but that didnt happen! but boney isn even australian ranked so this wil be his first pro fight! flip fought al the top guys for his belt so boney wil have to do the same!! if the fight is close then flip may consider it, but i dont see the fight goin the distance! but iv herd alot of good feed back bout boney so i cant wait to see the fight!!

SPANO. . Mate stop talking down Broady. Broady is an awsome fighter and would be a good match for flip. Also your judging Boney with out even seeing him fight. Mate ill tell you now its going to be a hard day at the office for flip. Boney is the tallest 61kg fighter i've ever seen and is pretty aggressive.
Dont get me wrong. Im backing flip and believe he is the bench mark for the weight.
But it is busy weight with lots of inform and hungry fighters. cant wait to get back and in amongst it myself.[B)]:D

i havin seen broady fight in a while mate, not in a few years so i guess he wud be gettin alot better, but i dont put him in the same league as flip! but its only my opinion mate dont mean any disrepect to any fighters as i no how much heart u need to get in there so i respect al fighters! wel it wud be good to see u back in there mate!
samkor
03-08-2008, 08:16 PM
in respect to w.a not getting much exposure, or eugene boom boom not getting many fights on fox, may be because ( and i know im going to get trashed for this) he is not pretty to watch. that fight with tum for the world title, ah how do i say this, was freakin ugly man.
and yeah spano dont talk brodie smith down.. he does not hold wmc aussie titles for nothing.. he is an awsome fighter with loads of experience and would probably hit harder than anyone in his weight division. i actually think if brodie could get to that weight it would be a good fight.
if boney has fought chao from w.a, then that is some ballsey sh!t. chao is an awsome fighter.
how did boney go against chao..

He is more than ready for flip, and this will be the most exciting bout this weight class has seen between two aussies in a long time! Stay tuned guys this is the sort of fight that everyone hangs out for!

boney is one of the most respected fighters in wa. And just because you guys dont here of him does not mean he is and up and comer. I think he prefers to keep a low profile cos thats how he is. A champion bloke. Plus he won gold at the world championships when he was like 14 or 15. As full nelson said. This is going to be a cracker. Its what the sport needs. To great fighters from aus taking each other on. Respect to both boys.

Hey guys, Would just like to say that I look forward to fighting boney from WA and will train hard as like I do every fight. I have never had a fight that was easy and I'm sure this next one is going to be tough aswell from what I hear of boney. I havn't actually seen him fight (I missed the show on fox the other night) but I would say he hasn't seen me fight either, my last 11 fights back only the last one was on fox. And from what JWP has told me he has had 24 fights so he is more experienced then me too. Hope to see every one there for a good show.

Good match up I've heard of boneman zankl a few years back when he was making waves haven't heard a great deal recently till the supremacy show on fox where he look the goods, hope he has been active of late. boneman reminds me of a lighter version of warren elson meaning physique wise. extremely tall for the weight, which is the reason this fight will be interesting to see how flip negates that fact.Either way i think win loose or draw boneman will properly return to WA with a QLD TATTOO :D

180cm that would almost make him 6 foot tall
