Hey guys,

not sure if any of you blokes are interested in mma, I must admit I couldn't stand it less than a year ago, but have started getting more and more interested since I had started watching UFC on Fox 8. Also, the fact that some of the K-1 fighters cross over makes it pretty interesting as well.

Anyways, there is a large show happening in May, check out the link for details. If anyone ends up going, see if you can get us some pictures. I'd be very interested to see the quality of production, as it sounds pretty promising on the press release.

Yea i dont mind watching the ultimate fighting on foxtel. I even ordered that Shamrock-Ortiz PPV which was pretty cool gotta say.

Would be interested to see local stuff, how good it is etc. I reckon it would be a sick sport to watch live, so if someone goes give us a rundown here!

apparently qld is a hotbed for MMA in Australia - they must like that sorta stuff, the bloody and guts, ie Muay Thai, up there.

I love mma.
For me it is just as exciting watching a guy break an arm in a fight as it is to see a headkick or left hook. I am predominantly a kickboxing/ Muay thai fan but, these mma guys just can't get by with being a big striker or one dimensional. The champion mma fighters are all well rounded, ballsy, intellegent fighters who can fight on their feet or on the ground. I mean you can belt these guys to the ground alas 'street fighting style' and just when you go to punch them to finish them of they catch your arm and break it. Now that to me is excitement. I must admit at first some of the grappling fights were boring to me as they lacked action, but the more you watch the more you appreciate this. It is in essence a game of chess. One wrong move and it's over.

I applaud these guys they have balls of steel and they deserve every cent they get to hop in that ring. everyone should get behing these local events and hopefully australia may host a UFC or PRIDE. After all we have very established mma fighters here in - Elvis Sinosic (who has fought Tito Ortiz) and Mick Cutajar. Who knows JWP may even surprise us and turn to mma- seems he wins at every other style of fighting.

P.S. Even better "the man" Ben Smullens could fight in one. That guy would be like a pitbull, whoever beat him would have to kill him.

Increase the Peace.
