Is that inclusive of taxes?

well you can always get a tiger flight $140 from mel to perth then the $130 perth to bkk so $270 all up + taxes

tiger's pretty crap but cheap as.

https://jetstar.com/skylights/cgi-bin/skylights.cgi now heres what it really costs, this dosent even include food entertainment or a freakn blanket or accommodation.I paid $1690 and got airfare, taxes, accom in a 5 star[8nights] and then a 4 star[7nights club andaman} to Phuket. It will be slightly more if you go it alone but im going with a partner.
Plus 300 THB/day training fees and youve got 1 cool holiday.Im going in September, not really low season, kinda like shoulder as high season is November.

Jetstar HAVE TO include taxes in their prices

Go on the jetstar site and select the flight/destination etc and the taxes are automatically added. The price i got was $1213 including the taxes.By the way,i hope this helps someone who is trying to put a package together and is going to Phuket for the first time,im not trying to come across as a hero who can get the best deal. What i like to do is wait for the hot specials to come up,flying Thai which has the new 777 and they have even upgraded the older planes to include the tv in the back seat.
Yes wild action i believe its a great deal,my first quote was around $3000 for the same thing!!

the ACCC made it law a couple of years ago that all advertisments for flights etc. MUST include ALL taxes, because people were booking their seats for the $1 specials and it was costing them around $500 after tax

over here they don't include taxes and my wife was browsing the other week and found a flight for 3000baht and the taxes were 16000baht... go figure

I would rather swim with baby floats all the way Thailand than fly with either Jetstar or Tiger, have flown with each and whether it is conicendence or just my bad luck both times massive delays and unprofessional. plus the chicks are much better on Virgin

I guess you get good and bad with all airlines. We just flew Jetstar to Phuket and paid $550 return (each), including all taxes. We took our own blankets from a previous flight, some cheese and bikkies and bought a couple of drinks on board. Can't fault them, both ways my hubby and I even asked for 2 extra seats and were the staff happily obliged so we were able to lash out in comfort.

So these fares, mentioned by the original poster, are good, but if you can, wait for the even better sales.

And the fact that they fly direct to Phuket without any stop overs wins me every time!

I would rate the chicks on Singapore Airlines the best followed by Thai

Its a shame those deals come up only at the last minute, you practically have to have your bags packed and waiting.Anyway, thanks Naksoo for the heads up

the flights and prices that Naksoo has posted also run from the end of July into August... if I read my email correctly

These sale fares are a bit last minute, but they aren't always. The $550 ones previously mentioned we bought in October for travel in April.

So keep an eye out for more specials. You really can get some good ones...
