Howdy people! I have placed my comments on the fox feedback website regarding there lack of coverage in the last few months of boxing and kickboxing. They did reply to me and this is what they had to say...

Dear Sir:

Thank you for taking the time to write to us. There is no plan from FOX
SPORTS to show less boxing. At this time of year, with all the football
codes kicking off and the Cricket World Cup just finishing, it has been
difficult to fit in a lot of boxing.

FOX SPORTS will continue its commitment to showing at least 6 LIVE Fenech
Fight nights featuring Australian boxing talent.

We have and still have an agreement to show most of the world wide boxing
that we have being showing for the past couple of years including Fight Time
on Fox from the US and UK Championship boxing from the UK.

However, most of the top boxing cards will be shown on Main Event on a
pay-per-view basis.

We will continue to do kickboxing cards on a week or two delay as we have
had for last couple of years.

FOX SPORTS budget for 12 local kickboxing shows each year. FOX SPORTS have
an agreement with promoter Tarik Solak to broadcast six of his shows,
including his international K1 events. The other six shows are recommended
to us by Blitz Publications.

Kind regards
FOX SPORTS Marketing

Sounds good! ANd now we know why Tariks shows HAVE to be to a great standard.

Thanks for the info JANER. I think most of the shows broadcasted from other promoters are better than Tarik's, because his shows mostly revolve around the one main event and all the lights and the dancers etc, but he always seems to lack one ingredient that is VITAL to a great fight show, that is the UNDERCARD fights. More often than not the matchups on his undercards are VERY BORING and of a LOW STANDARD, which should not be the case especially when you pay top dollar to see one of his shows. His shows don't exactly represent value for money. I get more satisfaction from a Johnny Scida or Kelly Seif show to be honest.

Now that we know that there is space for 6 kickboxing shows that the hammer reccommends to fox, he can reccommend that one of the Pitbull Shows get put onto fox. Paul puts on 3 shows a year, quite clearly the best shows in NSW.

Cmon Hammer lets get some serious shows on fox.

I have been to 4 shows here in NSW and they have been all great shows, I have yet to go to Paul Show to see his standard this year you never know I might just turn up to have a look, I hear
you are quite a fighter Bullet it would be good to see you fight on a fox show. All the best for your fights this year.

If I had it my way, all 12 would be Queensland shows. Nothing else in the country gets near them.

It would have been awesome to see the recent Queensland promotion show on fox, featuring Soren, Noi, and Hammer to name only a few.

Am I missing something here! I scanned the Fox guide for April and not one kickboxing show! Is this correct?
I know that the scene is quiet over Dec Jan, but by now you'd think that there would be some shows to broadcast.

I believe that Tarik's April 11 show will be broadcast on Fox on April 24.

We will also be doing (by delay) Tarik's April 28 show from the Melbourne Town Hall and Ray Matsumura's show from the Gold Coast on April 27 (featuring Wayne Parr).

New Zealand fight fans will get to see the K-1 Saitama Sapp vs CroCop fight on SKY NZ PPV soon.

Check out the full FOX SPORTS fight guide in the next issue of International Kickboxer out soon.

Michael Schiavello, when you say that the previous Kickboxing main event was a success. What do you mean? How many people have to book it to make it worthwhile? Is there any expense involved for televising these promotions/events?

Out of curiosity, how many people booked "No Respect"?

Also just a thought... Can I set up some rights for a boxing promotion in reservoir and televise it on Main Event?
