I think Danny at his preferred weight will do the job on the big Croation boy. Should get it done by the 7-8 round. But defiantly not an easy fight for the Green Machine.
No disrespect to you Bill, but I couldn't care anymore. I'm a Mundine fan and I couldn't care bout his last fight. Green is a lot less entertaining.

Danny Green has got a tough fight. This bloke has only lost one fight out of 33 and that was to paul briggs in 04. He is also 6"5.
Bit tougher than Mundines opponent.
Go the Green machine!

I think Sam Soliman said it best on Thursday nights show,'If the danny green who knocked down Marcus Beyer in the first fight who had no fear and fought his fight, green will win, if the danny green who fought mundine and tried to fight his fight then he will lose'
Im hoping that green wins but my head is telling me that Drews will win by UD.

Drews via 12 round decision.
Really stupid matchmaking by Green if he got schooled by mundine and Beyer (A Junior Middlewight) whats Drews gonna do to him sit back and pick him off all night behind a nice jab and his huge height and reach adavantage.
Alot of aussies would have never seen drews fight and are regarding him very lightly from memory the briggs telecast was cancelled and only seen by the small amount of people like myself that somehow have a copy of this fight and went to the show live which was about 4000 max and most were croations in the normal seats.
From memory the first six rounds briggsy was having a very rough night before he landed a beautiful flush shot and drews started looking for a way out but cant see Green really doing anything i think Drews Amatuer euro background he will have every trick in the book for dannys very poor headmovement and defence which makes him a sitting duck when he's not fighting bums or punch drunk american sub marquee names.

Agreed. Stipe also does not mind the rough stuff if cornered but his reach and amateur background I like him TKO mid rounds. Props to Danny for this calibre of opponent and I would be rapt if he won.

I was at the Briggs/Drews fight and the reason Briggs won (apart from having huge heart) was that he fired up and made the fight a war. In the first few rounds Briggs couldn't get inside and wore many jabs from the Croat but after finally just charging in and taking a shot he discovered Drews' weakness. On the inside Briggs smashed him which brought out some really ugly foulplay from the Cro including low blows, attempted headbutts and even a throw. It was a classic mind snap from the Croat and Briggs cleaned him up afterwards.
For mine, I don't think Green is anywhere near as tough as Briggs and will attempt to box Drews, and he will lose. If, and only if, he is prepared to get hit on the way in, then he might win...and that is assuming he has the guns to bash Drews while in there.

He won't. Drews by long range thudding beating.

Steepeh by Green worrying too much about a big money rematch with Mundine. I hope Green gets embarrassed and ****s off forever.

And the fact that most Aussies expect Green to walk through this guy says more about matchmaking in Australia than anything else.

Didn't watch the fight, but thought that Drews may have cruised to a decision victory. I must admit that I was unpleasantly suprised when I saw the image of a victorious Green on the back page of the bundles of Herald-Sun's laying on the footpath outside my local newsagent during my morning run.
It has kind of ruined my day.

If Briggs can take either the IBF or WBO title, then I could see Green Vs Briggs happening as a unification fight.
What a great fight that would be!

Surely Briggs would KO Green.
As a Briggs suporter it would be a good fight, but you would have to pick Briggs to win (convincingly)

Green and Briggs would be a punch fest, two hitters. Would go off the charts but I'd rather see the Aussie boys nail a few more internationals than each other

What a ridiculous fight, or bag session as it seemed.
As far as i have been told. Briggs has hung up the gloves.. Lost the hunger...

At least fixing a fight is better than pulling some retired bum out of the pub and flogging him aroound the ring. Then jump around celebrating like your the best there ever was.

Because the self proclaimed "experts" got their predictions so embarrassingly wrong and are looking for a way to excuse their stupidity.

You referring to me Rebel? I never mentioned the fight was fixed and while I am suprised with the result, hate the talk of fight fixing everytime a fight turns out the way that it wasn't supposed to go.
I haven't even seen the fight yet and probably won't be breaking my back to get a copy, I have heard that Drews was terrible.

steady on tiger, the name and aim of the thread is 'predictions' right? I agree with Hiro that people immediately claiming a 'fix' are generally pretty ignorant, however I don't see you making any prediction yet are quick to get on here and rubbish people who did.
Pretty double standard if you expect people to voice their views in a critical manner.

Please bare in mind that I have only seen 'highlights', but from the footage I have seen it looked like Drews' defense, footwork and evasive skills were tight, he just never opened up and threw anything.

His defense was there but nothing else was. Strange fight Someone needed to tell Stipe it was OK to hit back.

did he go mental this time and resort to low blows, butts and throws?
