Interested in how you guys prepared yourselves, physically and mentally, for your first bout. How did you feel going into the fight? How did you feel during it. etc. Keen on some stories! :D

Well i was lucky i think, by that i mean i had ample time to prepare. I had been training for about 5 months, when my trainer mentioned a fight show which was coming up in another 3, he told me there was a fella about my weight who had 2 fights. I jumped at the chance. I had a bit of weight to lose, but with the intensity of the fight training it came off quite easily. As the weeks passed my entire lifestyle changed, no more sh@$%y food, and no more benders on the weekends. As i watched my body lean up, and felt my skill, stamina and fitness grow, my confidence and determination grew with them. At this stage my life had been consumed with the focus i had for the fight, other things seemed less important, all i wanted to do was get to the gym and slug my guts out. All of a sudden my trainer said
"all you guys who are fighting we're one week out, concentrate on keeping everything sharp and clean!"
God damn! one week! during that final week many differents thoughts were going through my head, a mixture of impaitence, and and wondering what the hell i had gotten myself into, never the less focused beyond belief. Finally, weigh in day, in the end only 2 of us were fighting, we went down to the sauna to get rid of those last few kgs then made our way tho the weigh in. As soon as we got there i tried to pick out my opponent, finally we were introduced, he had quite some height and reach on me, but i was unphased as we had been training for a taller opponent. I weighed in under at 78.4 kg and he weigh in a little over at 79.2. straight home to bed from there. The day of the fight i just ate and tried to relax. I was the first fight of the night so the nerves didn't really get a chance to take hold, although they were present. Next thing I knew my Ram Muay was finished and i was in the center of the ring face to face with my opponent, I went like a bat out of hell chasing him down like a mad dog. Then center of the ring again waiting for the decision not knowing how i got there, We ended up drawing, i almost ltterally fell out of the ring with one of my corner men trying to catch me. I was so exhausted I could barely see, but after a shower and a powerade i was sweet again. I took away alot from that experience, nothing can top the adrenaline.
Only having one fight since, but planning on many more, i'm still a beginner and am looking forward to becoming a better thai boxer. Thanks for reading.

my first fight well had a couple of pull outs which made things worse cause the weight keept changing.to prepare my self physicly was just training very hard for 3 hours a day that also helps with your mental readiness as my trainer told me fitness is fearless.
there was long runs, hill sprints, lots of bag and pad work and the worst of it gappling.
all that got me ready metally and physicly you look at the guys that you worked with for me its brett dalton, chad walker, mark poutney and charlie bellamy all those guys have been either australian champs intercontinenel or world champions so that helped my confidece going into the fight noing that i have sparred them and thinking to my self ive been kicked, punched and kneed by them this bloke aint going to hurt me.
before walking out i got real nervous thiking to my self you could get really hurt what are you doing but when that bell went sodid my nerves the fight only went for 45 seconds due to a nice overhand right which dropped him the first time but he got up then a quik glance at my corner for instructions then a couple of low kicks followed with a righthand then left hook and job was done.
after i was as proud of a p#of with 2 arseholes,i guess everyoe is different but o how they handle the self pressure remember that the only pressure you get is your own it dont come from your trainer or training partners what ever pressure you are feeling its a good chance its put on by you and only you at the end of the fight all all your trainer hopes you did your best win lose or draw

well mine was only a week ago, so should be fresh in the mind.
my trainer called me on an off training night and said "you wanna fight", i said hell yeah lets do it. i didnt even ask at what weight or who it was or how many rounds. i didnt really care.
from that moment on i focused on what was at hand as i kew i had to come down 4-5 kg for the fight. my trainer had been working us hard to get eerything right, and our fitness levels up there.
i was so focused i missed out on getting on the sauce for mates birthdays etc etc. but i didnt care because i knew this was more important, i wanted to work hard to show my trainer that im keen and show my bro i can do it 2.
during the week leading up to the fight, i was getting the odd butterfly or 2 but as soon as training was finished i was fine because i knew i was ready.
the day of the race i was calm and focused, i had a great support crew around me who helped me get ready and warm up.
as i was bout to walk out the promoter came and told us it would be another 15 mins. i was pist beacuse i was pumped and ready to rock, i had to settle myself and re focus.
15 mins was up and my song was playing and the next ting i know my heart is beating fast and i was jumpin the ropes. i listned to my trainer and calmed myself down and mentally prepaired mysel during my wai kru.
then it was on like donkey kong, physically throughout the fight i was fine, my rainer pre paired my to a tee and my brothers advice of "relax" was on the money. i didnt gas out.
so all in all i enjpyed it and i now know what to expect in the near future (3 weeks)

lol well sniper the result was not what i was hoping for. i lost by points decision. i was a bit disappointed in myself looking back at the video,as i knew i had more in the tank. i think my lack of ring experience (well none at that stage) is what lost it for me, i was to willing to coop his punches as they didnt hurt or rattle me. i know now that i wont be letting that happen again lol. but my 1 fight to his 4th i was happy with what panned out and what i have learnt from the fight.

I once put a fighter in the ring for his 1st bout against a guy that had 4 fights and my guy was literally in tears he was that nervous before stepping out
our song came on "Another Body Murdered by Faith No More & Boo Yaa Tribe", he settled right down and fought really well
he lost by UD, but even the other corner came over congratulating him on his technique and heart, and the after chatting later they said that he should have won or a draw would have been a good outcome NOT a win to their guy
we were happy with his performance and that he actually climbed into the square jungle
he stopped training & never fought again, eventually taking his own life a couple of years later... R.I.P. Jas
