Hello everyone
It looks like I'll play the role of moderator here on Sportzblitz but let's all try and PLAY NICE.
This is a forum and as such we are in a priveleged position to be able to voice our arguments, opinions, constructive criticisms, etc. for everyone else in the kickboxing community to read. Let's not abuse this privelege.
There is no harm in voicing an opinion, even if others may not agree with that opinion. But I don't see the point in openly bagging someone just because they make a point you don't agree with... so what if someone tipped Ozkan to beat Stan... so what if someone says that Dawson is not as good as JWP... so what if someone says that Solak's last promotion was a let down or was fantastic, or Michael Vukovic's shows are not their cup of tea...or Michael Schiavello's commentary sucks... this is a FORUM and as such we should utilise it as such.
We have to also accept that there will also be a contingent of trouble-makers on here... people who will just stir for no reason, who have no real knowledge of the sport and have little else to do with their time than sit on internet chat boards all day and look for ways to make trouble to add some meaning to their otherwise mundane existence. If this is you then pull your head in and see that this is a forum for people with a passion for kickboxing or who want to learn about the sport -- not for people to start trouble.
This is also not a RACIST forum... there is no need to bring ethnicity into play and doing so just goes to show a lack of intellect. Greeks, Turks, Serbs, Croats, Aussies, Italians -- one face, one race -- the HUMAN race. Ethnic sledging is really below the belt and won't be tolerated.
As for those people who get a little cheesed off and seek 'vengeance' and the 'wrath of God almighty' to hunt down and savagely kill those who piss them off -- relax. Like I said, this is a forum... if I had a dollar for every time someone came on here and said something about my commentary or my writing that I didn't like, well, heck, I'd be a rich man. I take it in its stride and leave it at that, I don't proceed to threaten that person and initiate a manhunt for them. But at the same time I also realise that people have FEELINGS so TRY to be NICE in the way you PLAY on here. NOBODY is perfect and most everybody in the sport of kickboxing is trying to do their best for the sport without much assistance or accolades - fighters, trainers, promoters, media, etc.
And for those people who ARE criticial, just remember this: of course you have the right to criticise, argue, opinionate, etc on this board... but there are many people on here who USE THEIR REAL NAMES and many who DON'T. Privacy of your identity is another privelege of being on a forum - don't abuse it, especially if you don't have the balls to post under your REAL NAME.
All in all, let's keep this forum open and positive. Nothing wrong with OPINIONS and ARGUMENTS... in fact I think they are great and give us all a good understanding of the sport from the perspective of FANS, FIGHTERS, TRAINERS, PROMOTERS and MEDIA.
JUST REMEMBER:
* Everyone is entitled to their opinion
* Everyone has feelings
* Everyone deserves to be treated with respect
THANKS
MICHAEL SCHIAVELLO
