hey all, just thought id let you know that im fighting this saturday afternoon in Nongki, Thailand. The fight is on a 4 day festival over here called the goodwill games, and will be on the last day of the festival. The show on the last day will be promoted by songchai, and is going to have some great fights aswell as my own.. its such a huge opportunity to fight on a songchai promotion, and i want to fight to the best of my ability to make a good impression, and hopefully fight on one of his promotions again. I will be fighting between 2.30pm - 4.30pm as it will be live on channel 11 and there is only a 2 hour broadcast spot. Im feeling in good form, a bit tired right now.. but rest and eating should clear that up :) and then i'll be ready for a war. Only downside is weighing in on the morning of the 17th, rather than the night of the 16th.. and with the fight being in the afternoon rather than night there is not much time between weigh-in and fight so i have to be careful about how i make weight.. so i am currently sitting on my fight weight.. and i will have to time it to perfection so i have plenty of energy.

well i better go, think i need to buy a few things from the shop and then head back to the camp.. will probably post either sat night or sunday sometime.

cheers,
mitch.

g'day mate,

I just emailed you ask where you are fighting... gee, I feel like a **** right now after finding your thread

the show is Songchai with one of the Promoters being Ajarn Pramote - owner of Nongkee MuayThai Gym and maybe known by many of you as the Ajarn in the documentary BORN FOR THE FIGHT... he is the trainer that takes the deaf boy in and teaches him and also the Kru to Namkabuan 'The Ring Genius'

have fun in Burriram mate

Hi all, bad luck for our fighters especially Mitch, I was a bit disapointed that they changed his apponent 5 times on the day because of his height, Chao said he ended up with a mis-match that shouldn't of happen, Mitch said regardless of who it was he was there to fight and would fight who ever was in front of him, if I was there I would have pulled him out with all the bullsh1t that went down, but chin up and move on, Mitch already started training this morning for world championships, I'm still so proud of my boy no matter what happens....

Matt, how's it going, we leave Bangkok on the 6th Dec so one night on the piss sounds good hey, I will have international roam so text me when you get there and we will hook up for sure...

just a quick post.. im busy right now..
i am really disappointed with myself alot, i was sh!tting myself and i was pretty much frozen, but i dont have time to dwell because of the fights in the next few weeks..
I was supposed to be matched with an opponent of similar skill level so it would be a close fight you know, so it would be good for the crowd and whatnot.
They changed my opponent so many times on the day i fought, wen i weighed in i was matched against a heavier opponent (after all the weight i had to lose), the guy was mayb my age or a little older which was good and he was shorter a little broader but carrying a little bit of weight...
i rested during the day as per normal and went to the show feeling really nervous but i was focussed and eventually settled.. then maybe 20 minutes b4 the fight i had to go to the ring for a ceremony.. i was standing next to a fighter who was not the boy from the weigh in.. it made me nervous a bit, just the uncertainty and all that.. not to mention this fighter was bigger and more ripped than the other boy. But i was there to fight so i just tried to relax and get ready.. it was a bit hectic.. having to do **** with sponsor signs and cameras and all that..

the fighter i ended up fighting is ranked in the top 10 in thailand for his weight.. Chao found this out just before i got in the ring..
he honestly toyed with me, and worked me into the corners and tried to throw his best shots then.. he was too good and too strong for me but its over now
next stop world amatuers

cheers for all the support

Hey Mitch ... Bad luck mate , sounds like they screwed you around a fair bit . It is all in the experience dont be too disappointed , you have the Championships to look forward too . Hopefully I can get there in time to see you fight on the 5th Dec... then I will take your old boy out and get him smashed ...lol
Go hard mate ...always look forward , dont dwell on the past .
Cheers
Mat

I've never been to Thailand, so maybe it's a common thing to treat young foreign fighters like that, but THAT is some B.S. right there. Regardless, good stuff, Mitch. Somebody bring that top 10'er to Australia and chuck him in with Carnage without notice.

Seth_2

no1 could do anything.. songchai calls the shots and theres nothing anyone could do by the stage we realised i had a different opponent. Chao recognised him straight away, but he didnt say anything til after the fight you know.. then all his thai friends called up because they saw him on tele and all said "why did they match that boy with such a good opponent" and ppl who didnt see the fight asked who i fought.. and when chao said who they just sympathised with me.. it doesnt compensate for the cr*p.. my **** performance especially.. i had a big experience and a learning curve especially about nerves and that.. i was so nervous my legs and arms felt like jelly in the ring.. gah

as for my original opponent, it was canned becoz songchai didnt like the looks of him ie. not ripped. so he wanted some1 good for tv
if i had known of such a scenario i would have happily fought later that not, not on television..

but as i said, thanks for all the support.. i really wish i would have at least performed better
i really do want to forget that night.. im training hard now for the amatuers and the fight in nsw so i will do my best to win those..

cheers.
