Does anyone have a view on the quality of Everlast boxing gloves that you can buy from Rebel Sports? Are they good for training/sparring?

A few of the people I train with use the gloves you mention. Everlast is a good brand.

Last year I found Madison did a line just called 'Thai' from Rebel which had full endorsement from WMC and even had the official logo (of the world map and the guys sparring).
Of course I picked up a couple pairs and am fully satisfied with the quality. Cost is about 120 bucks for 12 ounce gloves in a striking blue.

Everlast was a good brand, until they decided to go more retail.
Some of their retail stuff is just cheap and there for marketing and getting product name out there. They do have upper end stuff which is fine but supermarket and or normal retail outlet stuff is not as good.
As someone mentioned, foam is an issue.

Everlast are good if you are a chick hitting pads with your personal training in a tree-filled park somewhere over the summer months.
