Schiavello,
You mentioned while commentating on the Stan fight that Tibor is coming back. Do you have any more news you could share with us.
I think his last fight was the controversial fight against Gurkan, where in my eyes I thought Tibor was winning. But Ozkan has came a long way since those sluggin days, and Tibor has been adsent for so long. If a re-match was to take place, I would like to see Tibor have at least 3 fights under his belt before attempting to take Ozkan. That would make way for one hell of a main event!

If Tibor comes back, he would need to defeat at least a couple of accomplished fighters. Then they can really build a grudge match with Ozkan. But that would be at least a year off, if he did get out and start training soon.

OMG,

hehe, I can just imagine the face-off as the ref is giving instructions.

Of all the great fights that I missed before my time started following the sport. I think I most regret not seeing any Vermes fights.

Also Mangan. I wish he could have come back to fight after the badly broken arm.

It would be great to see Tibor back -

I remember the last time Tibor met Ozkan - it was sensational!! -
although Tibor was winning the fight until the 'incident' - I believe if they were to meet within the year Ozkan would eat him up.

Vermes would need a great trainer, some solid fights and experience to be able to get to Ozkans current level.

With 3 plus years out of the ring, you would EXPECT Ozkan to eat him up. Even with 2 or 3 warm ups under his belt I don't think that enough to get the old Tibor back. Lets forget this for now and see some fights with Ozkan vs people in there prime!

Excellent points John and Krama.

I hope that we do see the fight happen eventually with Gurkan, but lets see Tibor gets some warm up fights. Because I'm sure we want it to be an epic battle, which it no doubt will be with Tibor in peak form.

Vermes was a great fighter and I'm sure after some hard training and a few warm up fights he would be more than competitive against Gurkan.

That's why they use to call him Mr Perfect because he never lost a fight (only the controversial decision against Gurkan for stepping out of the ring, that's if you wish to call that a loss)

Before Gurkan I believe his record was 15 Fights for 15 Wins and he had also had around 40 Boxing fights overseas before he lived in Australia, Dana use to say he was born a naturally fighter with excellent skill, technique and power.

Would love to see him in the ring again whether it’s against Gurkan or not.

You say he is in jail? Thats strange when Schiavello verbally mentioned he is on his return when commentating on Stan vs Gurkan!

You're right Axekick, they did call him Mr Perfect. I member Dana always using Tibor as a reference when talking about precision and hard training. Dana said every technique from low to high kicks, punches, knees, would always be excecuted perfectly by Tibor.

But he will need a good trainer to get him back on track.. Maybe Stan should consider?????

I got something special of Tibor after his fight against Gurkan.. and I've treasured it to myself until recently.

When I get my hands on my friend's scanner I'll bring it up here soon!

JKLA, i'm pretty sure its drug related. There was an article about it in the Herald Sun. It was not long ago (can't remember the exact date). He got 12 months, so i guess he could be out sooner on good behavior.

Yeah, I still have the article cut out around here somewhere(Just had to show it to my training buddies). He was busted with a crop twice. I think he will get out soon too. I was only watching his fight on tape the other day against Mark May I think and boy it just reminded me how skilled he is/was.
