Did anyone catch Saturday's paper?
Sam made the front cover of the Weekend guide. He is a legend!

They had a great two page write up on him.
Mentioned his two retirement fights later this year, one in Japan and the other in Melbourne.

Can't wait to see Slam-Em Sam in action again, in Melbourne.
Just hope it's a credible opponent not like the last two fights e.g. Topuz and Bernardo.

Still kicking, but not as strong, at 46!

John Cav ...

when it was orignally announced that Greco was going to fight Duke Roufus for a world title,I thought you guys were in for a treat.

No Go !!!

Then a few K1 names were floated around, with Bernardo getting the fight.Too bad it was Carl .... and not Mike.

although I did enjoy the beating greco handed out to Carls legs.

cheers Spada

Hi Spada,

You are right, we were looking forward to the fight with Roufus.
It is a pity that at the time Sam was actively fighting the K-1 and we were hoping that we would see a match-up with a K-1 fighter in Melbourne. Mike Bernardo would have been great value, but alas his brother :( I am sure no-one has heard of him since, I sure haven't.

Topuz was better than Bernardo, probaly a better boxer than kickboxer.

Still kicking, but not as strong, at 46!

Yeh was a good article John, just the usual kind of interview questions. But some funny stories in there (the Mick Gatto & the Parking officer one).

G'Day Chris,

Good luck with your fight on the 21st. I am sorry I can't be there.

I would have loved to see Eddy Maguire's face when he noticed the legs dangling from the boot of the car :)

I will see what I can do to scan the article.
