Love him or hate him, he does make spectacular shows.
just saw one on fox over the weekend. with the ring surrounded by a pool. it does look very extrvangant. the fights may not be of good quality but it does make those ceo from tvland very happy getting thousands of viewers to watch his shows. i guess money talks.

I think that Wheels is a guy you could learn a lot from. I think the biggest lesson that I have learnt so far is that we should send our children to school, otherwise ... well this thread speaks for itself.

As far as a pool around the ring goes, I would tune in if they filled it with crocodiles, but otherwise it seems rather pointless.

In the WCC you can definitely say the fighters are of a world class level. I cant remember what the name of the guy who beat Foley was, but he defnitely would be worth seeing again. Farid is world class, a well known fighter world wide.

The show on TV last week was a level up from the other shows he has put on and they obviously get better. So you can say the quality is there now and it is more efficient to put on a "quality" promotion in Turkey.

Gurkan didnt end up winning the tournament but still the "gullable" people tuned in. Cant wait for the show at the end of the year....

i'm absolutely pissing myself on this one...you've really outdone yourself this time.

i dont mean to sound like a pr!ck or embarrass anyone but wheels is actually a champion of a bloke that is confined to a wheel chair and has a disability. the fact that he is on here and voicing his opinion makes me admire him even more. the fact that i know personally who he is and who he is related to in kickboxing will explain a few things a little better but dont pick on him for wanting to voice his opinion. he is not on here challenging anyone nor personally attacking any individual.
I definitely dont want to make excuses for the shows being broadcasted at the moment but keep in mind they were running every two or three days. if any of you have fought at such regular times then you will know exactly what it is like. Fighting 3 fights in a night will put much less stress on the body. the fact that you have a days rest gives those niggly injuries time to intensify.
Its pretty simple though. if you dont like the shows then switch the channel to something you do wanna see.

Obviously my comment had no reference to Wheels personally, or his disability. Was just a play on words, sorry if I offended anyone...

its not just what you have said in this thread that offends me hiro. i just noticed what you said in the other thread about your identity where you stress that you have never insulted anyone personally. i think looking at some of your comments on this thread can be taken as nothing but insulting and complete with personal attacks.
no dramas though you can make of it what you will. im not here to get at anyone myself.
and wheels. pleased your doing well champ. hope to catch up real soon ey.

That’s fair enough Chris and I apologise. Given the nature of Wheels’ posts/threads in the past and not knowing his background, I was under the assumption that he was just trolling about most things. I mean, after all, he is wrapping up Tarik’s shows. The only people who have done that in the past are the same people that want to meet anyone criticising them at Broady train station for some beatdown. To me, those people are open game and only come on here for those kind of reactions.

Having known Wheels’ background, I would not have made those comments.

Point taken though Snip.

as my old man would say, your a gentleman and a scholar hiro. i agree with your comments and believe you me i have a laugh everytime you guys argue. and its when the people you are talking about bite back that i sit, read and enjoy the retalliation. I know wheels wont take offence to it cos he is a top bloke himself so no harm done champ.

just throwing it out there..
i got really frustrated watching the prince amir fight last night..
i believe he lost (it was a good fight) after the 3rnds, 29-28 i scored it. An extension rnd came, i wasnt really phased by this.. i felt that given his age and how hard he worked in the last rnd to find the win, he wuld have spent his pennies.. but all the bull**** over his eye, and the gloves.. "Protect yourselves at all times" you cant cop a hit and look at the ref when ur just outside ur opponents range.. He got dropped, counted.. Prior to that he got dropped with a clean shot and no count, bit of a joke. The next issue was the towel coming over the top rope.. that could have easily been stopped right then and there. Corner men really needed to think a little harder. Then the issue of liniment on the gloves.. soon as there is any form of a clinch you are bound to get liniment on ur gloves, or a good punch u may scrape up some vasoline.. The french boy was clearly trying to indicate this when confronted about it. 5 minutes later.. the fight resumes for 2 minutes. The french boy scrapes the victory which he earned 5 times over! haha.

positive note, the walk to ring was really awesome.. big stretch around the block. would really pump you up!!!
also there are some good fighters on the show i havnt seen before.. a dutch boy with a muaythai background.. i saw him demolish his opponents a few weeks back. would love to see him fight again!!

How much did Tarik pay you to put this thread up wheels?

Tarik has the occasional good fight on his shows these days yes(albeit overseas), but before then his shows in OZ since 2000, sucked donkey balls and most people agree.

He is more about stroking his ego than giving value for money and wanting to further the sport.

Now put that in ya pipe and smoke it.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
