Just got the card emailed to me for next week's K-1 AMSTERDAM European GP... and PAUL SLOWINSKI is in it!

I can't wait... I'm going to Amsterdam to sample the brownies... um... I mean to commentate this event, and having the Big Polak Stud in there just made it more interesting.

Card as it stands.

Super Fight
SEMMY SCHILT vs MIGHTY MO (super heavy title defence)

Super Fight
PETER AERTS vs TBA (rumour of BOB SAPP as TBA... Bonjasky withdrew due to mother's death)

Super Fight
RUSLAN KARAEV vs MELVIN MAENHOFF

Super Fight
JUNICHI SAWAYASHIKI vs NICHOLAS VERMONT

Special Fight
HIROYA vs TBA

European GP Tourney

1. Bjorn Bregy vs Brecht Wallis
2. Mohamad Magamedov vs Maksym Nelevda
3. Paul Slowinski vs Hiromi Amada (seriously, Paul should destroy his legs inside one, if not two rounds)
4. James Phillips vs Zambit Samedov

This will be Paul's first time fighting with Ernesto in his corner.

very interesting card, Paul should have a pretty decent chance of winning this.
So has he been called up as a late replacement, then finds he is now in the running for a GP spot down the line? Wonder why Peter Graham didn't get the call?

Semmy will win easily over Mo.
Aerts and Sapp would be a great spectacle (bit like the Hoost fight)...hope Aerts is in shape however.

Karaev to win (unless he drops his hands and gets KTFO like usual, though I don't think Maenhoff has the artillery to do that)

Sawayashiki to win and continue his rise.

Hiroya, well, everyone loves him and of course he's gonna win!

Should be a fun night Shiv...but don't inhale!!

IMO... Paul beats Amada in two rounds, only I hope Paul has learned under Ernesto not to stand flat-footed and take the head shots as that's what Amada does -- stands there and bombs. Paul should chop out his legs in one or two rounds... then he will face Samedov, who is smaller than Paul but in peak physical nick with good all-round skills. Will make Paul work hard for a victory here.

My tip for the final...

Da Sting V Maga Magamedov

Result: hmmmmmm tough one depending on earlier wins/damage....contrasting styles. To tough to call but it comes down to Paul chopping kicks and Magas evasion, defence and slick combos.

Both under new training as Maga has been training in Bealrus instead of Thailand to train K1 style.

Would be great to see either win as both favs of mine but obviously would love to see da sting victor!
