Let me know what you think.

Janer,
You should be safe with Gurkan by your side LOL.
You must be ready to explode with only a few days to go.
From Micks post it sounds like Gurkan is in great shape and looking for the KO. Good luck to him.
If i had two video recorders....How do u copy a video to cd? How does the quality turn out in comparison to the original video?

Janer,
I've never made a Video CD before.
I've saved Video files as Quicktime movies to CD, where they will play back on your computer, but I believe that this isn't the same thing, as I don't think that DVD players will play it back.
I'm on macintosh, and have fallen behind with the technology.
My Wintel laptop and the programs available for it is supposed to be better at doing MPEG, which apparently most new DVD will play it.........I think.
Remy, If you have a digital camcorder and Firewire on your computer, it's pretty easy to import and digitize.
I just connect my VCR to my digital camcorder with regular Yellow, Red, and White RCA plugs. Start playing the tape on the VCR, and start recording on the camcorder. Then I simply just import it from my camcorder through Firewire cable into Mac program iMovie 2.
Then you have a bunch of codecs that you can compress the video with. Windows video editing programs I believe allow you to save as MPEG or MPEG2 codec, which unfortunately my mac programs don't have as an option.
I don't have a digital camcorder. It sounds like it would be easier just to borrow a video recorder and do it that way.

Remy haven't spoken for a while - hope this helps mate!
From my experience you first need a 'video capture card' - which looks a bit like a sound card - but is not used for output but for input and sits on the motherboard of your pc.
Also I dont think it really modifies the quality much as you aren't using 'generations' as the film people say (such as when you 'dub' from tape to tape).. this I think is because you are copying the analogue video tape.. straight to digital - which is why we can copy DVD / VCD / AVI / MPG onto disk.. but not lose any quality. (such as a porn compilations we borrow from mates.. lol!)
I have a friend who does this for me.. and believe me it is a great way for anyone - to backup / modify / duplicate videos you do not want ruined by playing so much and wish to maintain. (i.e such as Lewis vs Tyson on P.P.V!).
Oh.. and also - having 2 or 20 X video recorders will not help.. you only need one.. and a half decent pc with this 'capture' / 'video input' card.
Hope this helps,
Hamish

Hi Janer,
Yes, I do train in KB / MT but have only been in Preston for 2 years since I was married.
Originally from Epping.
Do you train yourself?
JANER

Axekick, its sounds like your an old codger! lol Im 22, I use to train a little bit of kixkboxing at a place called "Galijess" (spelling) on hight street preston. Galijess is looking for a man with millinons of $$$$ so start his film. He gives you a whole life story that he met bruce lee and his daughter and he had written a script! FUnny guy but a great fighter. You may have seen him do exhibitions at the crown casino!?
Then I started pure boxing in kinsgbury off Dunne street. Now I am just training with an ex army cadet named Peter Matheson. He use to train with Mick Nichols who was best buddies with Dave Hedgcock. I did have a stint training with Gurks but the time schedule was too hard. The problem is, I am too slow and never got too serious with the sport. I did alot of weight training so it stunt my growth, well thats my excuse :), and my speed suffered. But uni and work keeps me busy
So I am a kickboxer with shattered dreams!

Janer,
Im only 27, I hope that doesn't make me too old!!!
Yeah Calijess has a story for everything.
There is also a really good boxing gym in Preston. (just behind the town hall). They train every weekday and 7 - 12 on Saturdays and its only $2- per session. Really good for Bag work and sparring.
