Come on guys, about 95% of the posters think Ozkan will lose and lose easily against THE MAN (except QUPNCY & ALLAN.F). Can we find or make a list on HOW he can win and what chance does he have. Please list them.

- Doesnt he have the power to knock him out?

- Cant he hold the pain from the leg kicks?

- Wont he tire out stan in the later rounds?

There has gotta be some chance he can win.

Janer,

Gurkan is a great fighter but just think that Stan will be simply to strong for him.

As for Gurkan's power, well he has plenty but remember Stan has taken punches and lots of them from much bigger hitters than Gurkan.

Gurkan must fight a very smart fight for this one if he is thinking of winning.

Good luck to both of them and may the best man win on the night.

it doesnt matter if stan has been hit by bigger harder hitters, if ozkan lands one in the sweet spot stan will drop, the face has 3 pressure points he just needs to hit one flush and its all over. thats the fight game.

hey dont get me wrong ozkans a machine an hats off for beating adam watt but did his knocking out power in the hands do any good then?? an i bet a lot of people will agree with me that stans a lot better fighter than watt. iv watched the watt an ozkans fight at least 10 times an to me it looks like watt wasnt even trying that hard ,maybe holding back?? an this fight with stan an ozkan is all about respect so i dont think stans gonna hold back. for ozkans power, hes gonna have to find the power of mark hunt to stop stan.

that Ozkan-Watt fight was near farcicle in my opinion. Watt looked like he was told he had to lose the fight. He offered nothing.

Then after that fight, Ozkan is signed to fight Stan in a super fight, and one has to wonder if it was all setup.

Stans gonna be too strong, unless he is totally shot, which nobody really knows. People are assuming Stan will be somewhere near what he was a couple years ago, which will be too much for Ozkan.

Janer here is a list of there advantages and disadvantages:

*Gurkan: is in his prime there is no douhting that, and is very focused.
*Stan: if way past his prime, and hasen't fought for a long time. His conditioning will be a factor.

*Gurkan: good hands, and good punching power.
*Stan: i think has better hands and more power. Rememer He has ko'd many with punches.

*Gurkan: Lets face it, not the best kicker around.
*Stan: He will be alot better in this area. shorly no one can argue this.

Gurkan: Will be the quicker of the too.

Gurkan i think will have more heart.

In summery to this i think that Stan will win the fight by TKO in the mid rounds, He has skill and power on his side. Somthimes heart isn't enough.

Shorly you can agree with some of my points Janer...
Has Gurkan got a chance? Of course. If one makes a mistake the other can ko him in a second...

Well Guys I have to agree with all of you. Even Setheridge my old buddy old pal!lol

Tony S, I would agree with you totally but my honest opinion is Watt thought he was too good for Ozkan. He was arrogant in his fighting style and didnt look like he was worried. It was more of an exhibition fight where Watt would think he would win every round. He let the find go for too long before he pushed the pace.

Mick, yes Gurks is in his prime and stan is arguably not. As we saw against Graham he was very tired by the end of it, but he won it easily. I do think Stan is a better fighter technically and I also think Stan is the best ever fighter in australian history (2nd Greco). Gurks will be quicker as he is younger and should be fitter! Gurkan shows alot of heart, you can see it in his eyes and the way he slugs some of his fights! But you can also say STan has a HUGE heart who holds it within himself.

Both fighters have got a MASSIVE knockout punch. One is VERY technical and the other is a army tank full of grunt. It will come down to who can hold the pain and be there towards the end.

Remember, BOTH fighters have NEVER been knocked out. SO I dont think there will be a knockout, unless a silly mistake evolves.

Do you guys think the fight will be an exhibition? OR both will go all out?

Janer, Stan's been knocked out 3 times. In 1995 he was ko'ed twice. First by Duke Roufus in about 50 sec via a right hand out of nowhere. of the first round in America. Then, right after fighting Duke he fought Mike Bernardo in the first round of the K-1 GP finals and got ko'ed by a stiff round kick to the neck in the second round, I think it was. Then he was knocked out once in 1996 or 97, can't remember when, defending his WMTC world heavyweight title against Andy Hug, again, in Japan via a right hand in the second round. Stan also fought Rick Roufus and was winning the fight in the earlier rounds, but Roufus started to get on top of him after Stan aggravated a leg injury and eventually had to retire, in the eighth round I think. That was a tko though, as Stan didn't come out for round nine, not a ko like the other 3 fights. So he has been stopped before. But that was then. This is now. I don't think Ozkan has the power of the fighters that have stopped Stan.

I was a bit dubious about this (ie I also thought it may be an "exhibition") but I see on Tarik's site that he has offered an extra $100K for a knockout.

Gives it a bit more legitimacy in my opinion, although maybe that's what it was offered for!

An exhibition? LOL

You guys seriously have NO idea how much Stan and Gurkan want to knock each other the **** out! Honestly, Gurkan will settle for nothing less and Stan can't risk anything more than a decisive victory.

There won't be any exhibition on the night... someone is gonna get laid out.

well we all hope its not gonna be a exhibition. because i can see alot of people being very p***ed off , i dont realy feel like paying $20-$30 bucks on pay per view for an exhibition.

Janer, Allthough i want Gurkan to win, I think that what it comes down to is Stan has too much to loose from this fight and that's why he's going to be determined as ever not to loose !

Regardelss of the result on the 17th Gurkan will return to fight on future shows with the added experience of going toe-to-toe with
"The Man", the same can't be said for Stan !

I agree LR,
Stan has a lot more to loose than Gurkan.

But I still believe Gurkan has 50% chance.
We have to consider that he has pulled off already what people didn't give him a chance of doing.

We also have to consider that Gurkan has fought many times, over the past 18 months, where as Stan hasn't really fought since Peter Graham (at least not that I know of).

Gurkan is very dangerous.
Also consider how many big guys Paul Robinson has been in the ring with.
But who knocked him out.
Paul's got a very decent chin on him. Anyone that can stand after Clay's landed a clean shot has to be considered as having a great chin.

In our Blitz chat with Peter Graham.
We asked Peter whom was the biggest hitter he's ever faced.
And Peter said Clay.

I absolutely believe that the deciding factor here, is very dependent on whether or not Stan just comes out and says 'That's it, I'm going to destroy Gurkan's legs'.

As tough as Gurkan is, no man on Earth can take too many of those animal kicks that Stan can dish out.

Though, Stan might come out and want to show all his fans why he is called 'The Man'.
I think Stan's a wonderfully brilliant showman, and reckon he's going to want to give all his fans a mixed barrel of skills. I think he's going to show us that magnificent leaping hook of his, and his many brilliant combos. This is where it could all go wrong for anyone letting their concentration slip for a second.
Gurkan can hit pretty friggen hard.
