Thanks. I tried the place in Mandurah but they weren't interested in training someone who didn't want to fight :-(
I also tried the other place in Mandurah (XL) but $115 per month is a lot for me to pay if I want to train just twice a week.
Will keep looking :-))

there is that place around dixon av or nearby, FightPower I think is possibly the name.

Search this site under search area (lol) for Rockingham and I listed the place before in another topic.

It is a shame that too many gyms only focus on training those who wish to fight or pay very little attn to those who do not.

Some people do not want to get hit unnecessarily.

Thanks All,

Yes, it is a shame that non-fighters are not considered more. To be honest, I was not even asked if I wanted to fight. It was just assumed that a 'young sounding female' would not want to fight. He could have been wrong ??

Does anyone have any further details for these guys or are any of them out there reading this ?? I will go up to Freo or down to Mandurah (and obviously Rockingham / Kwinana) and will look at Muay Thai, Kickboxing generally, Thai boxing-something focused, to get me fit and disciplined again :-)

in the mean time start running and push a little past to what your comfortable with, buy a heavy rope and skip. Will do you the world of good if you do start at a muay thai gym.

If thats no help get one of the MWP gyms Ph.Num and give them a ring they might be able to help.

I agree some people just like the fitness, cant get the time to train for a fight or just dont want to fight. But from experience try to get hold of a gym that has fight and fitness classes because some of the best fighters never intended to fight but just ended up feeling comfortable in the ring, also being around fighters you will learn a lot quicker and pick up a lot of small things that will help you improive yourself. Its amazing what you can learn by just watching goods people train. Also you might find a few boxing gyms that allow people to train but not fight.

Thank you. I used to train in London quite a few years back and was tempted towards the ring back then but the nerve has gone now !
Don't think I'd find any (small) females in my weight category though !!
My strength is more boxing than the kicking so maybe will look more at boxing clubs.
Cheers.
