Bruce "Preacher" MacFie and Franki Giorgi have been named as the two main events on the Gold Coast's first fight show after the New Year's break, War On The Shore 7. The event will be held at the Southport RSL on the 24th of February.

The Preacher will take on highly touted Belarussian Vitaly Gurkov. Gurkov, at just 19 years old must be on of the World's best up and comers in the middleweight division with a record of 94 fights with just 3 losses. Word is that Preacher will have to be on his best game for this fight, with Gurkov standing 6'3, perhaps power being his only weakness.

In the semi main event, Evan Morris of Strikeforce Gym will take on Franki Giorgi who has just switched to Five Rings Dojo. Both of these men have been climbing the middleweight ranks in the past few years, having fought many of the same opponents, but this will be the first time they fight together. Franki is coming off a tough loss to Eli Madigan, while Evan returns to the ring after a short break following his last bout in Japan.

Competing for the Australian Title are Brodie Smith and Duane "Shadow" Shepard. Brodie while still only in his mid 20's, has been fighting on the local seen for almost 10 years. In his previous Title matches he was unlucky with injuries and losses by decision, he will surely be fired up to take this, his most important title shot. Shadow has had a few tough matches recently with short, stocky, kickboxing stylists, so it will be nice to see the Queensland Champ go against a good Muay Thai stylist in Smith.

I heard Walker aint onit nemore. Apparently DDD is fighting Sloss, dont quote me tho as this is what i heard. Also I heard Vitaly isnt fighting Preacher, again not 2 sure... nebody know nemore on these 2 match-ups?

If they aint on its a real shame coz Walker is such a good fighter 2 watch and QLD would relish seeing this guy in action. Also its shame if Vitaly doesn't fight in Brizzvegas b4 he heads bak home as he is just insane. His super aggresive style is truly awesome to watch in the ring. I hope both these guys get good fights over in QLD soon with foxtel exposure coz if ne1 deserves it it's these 2!

The more you sweat now the less you bleed later
