This guy is awesome.

I love Rich, but always thought he had flaws in his stand up

Take a look at the way a really good MT stylist demolishes UFC spirit.

Gotta love this.

Anderson Silva is wicked he trains at one of the best MMA teams in the world he is good at BJJ and MUay thai but his background obviously is Muay thai, Franklins standup is questionable and was outclassed vs very good striler here

Trent

Don't take a knife to a gun fight! So train harder than the next guy

While Silva does have very good MuayThai skills, don't think he has a background as a MuayThai fighter, because he doesn't. He started off as a Vale Tudo guy with great ground 'n' pound & a good sprawl. Over time he developed his striking skills and refined them at Chuteboxe, before leaving them a number of years ago. He's a Brazilian JiuJitsu blackbelt and has very good defensive wrestling ability, too. Anderson is just one of those great all-around fighters that choses to utilise excellent striking skills, with his other abilities. Much like Jens Pulver, Dennis Kang, Takanori Gomi, Wanderlei Silva, Vitor Belfort (When he decides to fight, anyway) & Rampage Jackson.

The most awesome part of that fight is that second where Franklin kind of looks at Silva with this pathetic look on his face as if to say 'Come on Man, give me a go'

definitely hiro. He just looked like he's never done any stand up at all!

I couldn't believe that here, the man with supposedly the best stand up in his weight class looked so outclassed.

I believe Chuck Liddel will soon meet a similar fate. I dunno, we all know he bangs hard but against someone the equivalent of silva in his weight class I think he too would lose.

That isn't entirely correct. I dont think that anyone ever thought that Franklin was a better stand up fighter than Silva, who some people refer to as the 'Roy Jones Jr of MMA'.

Just on Cameron dekker, he just keeps getting and looking better and better. Really enjoyed watching his last fight, and I think he's come a long way. Both of you keep up the good work.

It aint about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward!

agreed dekker, lol. Far out he came out caining in the last fight. One thing though, whats up with the hair? wwooops, better run before camo and dekker bash me.

Hiro, I dont think they thought him better, but he is over managed in my opinion and hence it has given the image of him being really good with his stand up since he fought guys worse than him.

Finally a great stand up fighter proves otherwise.

Alot of these mma guys can bang hard but have really crappy stand up skills and hence when someone who is slightly better than they comes along, they make the world of him. I dunno, lets just see where this takes us. I can't see fighters remaining idle anymore and not making Stand up skills so much more important in their training

Depends on the strengths of that particular fighter, ie - you don't want to clinch with a good judoka.
