If you want to fight, you don't need to go to the interclub days, although it can help abit. Talk to your trainer ,tell him you want to fight and he will take it from there. If you are training for a fight you need 5-6 days hard training a week with 1 or 2 days off for recovery, thats the way we do it but every trainer is differant.

No offence to your gym but if your trainer is only there twice a week then does your trainer even train fighters???
Like Cmore_Viking said go to another gym that has classes 6 days a week.
Where abouts are you?

BTF,
You've asked this all b4, by memory you live in or near the dandenongs. There's Blitz in Heathmont, or if you are SERIOUS about wanting to fight, and you said you wanted to learn Muay Thai, Sor.Jaiphet in Richmond, Sityodtong in Northcote, Malvern Martial Arts in Malvern, Im's Kun Khmer in Dandenong just to name a few..
The old saying BTF, "If it's meant to be, it's up to me"...
Make it happen if YOU really want too..

lol i know that thanx.
I trained six days a week twice a day for 6 months before my first fight and even that was fast back in 2001 some guys have trained for 5-10 years inc trips to thailand before they dare jump in so 2 nights a week for any length of time none of the trainers I have had (many) would even let you fight!!!!
Don't take a knife to a gun fight! So train harder than the next guy

I use to train at Loong Fu Pai,
I use to train with Terry Lim many times during the week,
all around the eastern suburbs.
Some of his other higher instructors are ace too, the younger ones not so much.
Dianne Chapman is a machine, she use to spar with us just like another guy, but after she won that title she dropped right off. I still see her at our interstyle tournaments plus some of these other guys that come along, you should come along BTF. I still have fun with her at your LFP tournaments, she's still trying to discipline me. I can understand that you are far away in Upwey, thats where I use to live, but Im's Kun Khmer at Dandenong is less than 30 mins away, and I might see you there.

On one of my many adventures around the globe, I spent some time in Vietnam. Due to my friendly personality and all round good guy nature, I became friends with one of the local guys. I became quite friendly with this local guy as he liked to fight, liked to drink and liked to party. However, when this particular guy 'party too hardy', as he would say, he would piss his pants - like guaranteed - every time.
This guy's name was Tran and whenever I am so drunk I piss my pants, I call this being totalled 'Traned'.
For a while there, I thought that is what this thread was about and was going to say that if you are 'traning' two nights a week, then you have a serious problem.
Thanks for clearning it up Bushi.

first of all mate you need to get something sorted train has a i in it, it is not tran ok. really man are you tripping, are you really taking things seriously by saying you want to fight and only training 2 times a week. being a fighter takes massive ammounts of dedication and hard work. if you are really serious about fighting then you would find a place to train 6 days a week, but to me it doesn't sound like you are serious at all stop waisting peoples time and go get tae kwon do instructional video and chop boards and stuff for your bumkin friends.

BTF, sorry to say but I dont think you have what it takes to be a fighter. If you were half serious about it you would have done something about it by now. Fighters dont talk about their training very much they just DO IT, so maybe you should get off the net and into a decent gym, work your ass off and prove me wrong. One of the best sayings "GO HARD OR GO HOME" I think this applys to you.
Hope you prove me wrong, but I doubt it.

Just go to an interclub sparring night. With 16 ounce gloves, shin pads, head gear, 2 minute rounds with 1 and a half minute breaks, and all fights declared draws, nothing bad could really happen.

30-11-2006, 01:08 PM
i know why dont you do the metal pole test. go up to a street sign and shin kick it as hard as you can, if you snap it clean then you are ready to be a fighter if not you might just have to take up sychronized swimming or something. let us know how you go.

BTF...
100 Stephenson St Richmond most weeek nights...try sparring at a gym before you even get into intraclubs...go train there for a week and see how you hold up, it's different to a "2 nights per week" martial arts class, TRUST ME..
Most gyms spar, and they will treat you with respect and care..
See you there SOON..<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>:)

Ah Ben you are wayyy too serious!
BTF I will see you at our next interclub sparring night, 18th February. They are all on Sunday nights in 2007.
LFP usually has a few fighters on the night, there are a few El Salvador guys, do you know them, they take it pretty serious, they obviously train more than 2 nights a week. Have you asked Kancho Terry what else you could do to train, I would have asked him before coming on here and getting all these varied responses. In fact, over the past few months, you've asked a whole score of questions that should have been dealt with within the massive LFP club structure.
