I was told that George is matching his own fight. What a joke.
Peter Maniatis put some K-1 fighters name on the poster to stooj everyone about the opponent.
George is 100% fighting BANANAS IN PYJAMAS.
Another Peter Maniatis build-up Like the bulll-shh-it fights Nick Tetoris was getting on his shows.

Right, he fought and won on last years K-1 Osaka show in only his second fight, in front of a crowd that size and against an experienced fighter. I'm sure that was real easy to do.

So Mavrick Harvey isnt a former K1 USA Winner?

Im a bit confused also is this bout boxing or K1? Because at the top of the poster above the picture of both of them it says "K1 Rules".

it is such a shame when fighters trying to climb the rankings have to use gimicks like matching them selfs up with actors from WCW to try to get recognition in the boxing & kickboxing world and if that is the case then i suggest not to search the acting bullitin board but to look in your own back yard and look at the champions that AUSTRALIA have such as SLOWINSKI & THE ROLLING THUNDER & BIG CHRIS GODZILLA and thats only to mention 3 and if you can beat these boys then you qualify to search overseas . But until then please dont go on a show such as this with real fighters until youve earnt the RIGHT

just wondering why stan the mans brother george doesent fight australian heavy weight kickboxers. How do you think he would go against Slowinski or Big Chris?

I can not believe that I didn't pick up that this Mavrick is the same Mavrick that was KO'd by Nakasako and Kakuda.

That guy is rubbish!

Bily... George has only had two fights... seriously come on, why would you want to see him against Slowinski or Chris?

And yes, same Maverick who fought Naks and Kakuds.

LOL! George didn't prove himself? He fought in front of 40,000 people in his SECOND ever fight and beat a veteran fighter who has been in with some of the biggest names ever and who was expected to waste George. What happened? Stan's brother pasted him all over the ring!
You reckon that's nothing? Would love to see ANYONE do that, see how it feels to walk into the arena in K-1 Japan let alone FIGHT and win with that pressure on you and no experience to fall back on!
This sounds like jealousy to me, why does he have to prove anything to clowns like you? Why should he fight Slowinski or Chris? Is he obligated to do that to please you? He's had TWO fights and he didn't claim to be the leading Aussie heavyweight. But he sure as hell didn't need to toil on the circuit for years here before getting a gig in Japan, he got it and he capitalized in style. So yeah, I can see the hidden agenda in your posts, it's obvious you're green with envy. Yeah, being Stan The Man's little brother has opened doors, I guess you knockers are claiming you wouldn't walk through those doors if you had the opportunity as well. LOL!

I'v seen george fight. And I have also seen him starring. for a guy who has had only 2 fights he is a very tough guy. there is no need for him to step up to the big guys yet.
I can't understand why he is fighting on a boxing show. You would think he would want to be seen by the kickboxing fans. Also I don't think Peter Maniatis would be flying anyone from the USA, to fight george. don't be suprised the opponent changes in the final weeks.

Also how the ffff do you guys find these sites with the actors. love the work.
I'm still rolling on the floor laughing after seeing the actors pic's.

admin....whats wrong with my question?i mean if people are saying he fought a k1 opponent in japan and won why couldnt he fight australian heavyweights who cant qualify for the k1.i know your saying his only had 2 fights but he must be good to win in japan.anyway george might be exactly what kickboxing needs in australia since theres no stans and grecos around anymore.

Nothing wrong with your question Bily, but why would George fight a Slowinski (triple world champion, K-1 champion) or a Graham (you know the creds) when he has only had two fights? Yes George fought Kakuda in Osaka last year and beat him by decision, dropped him once in the fight too, but you can't compare a 45+ year old Kakuda to an in-prime machine like Slowinski or Graham.

That said, for George to fight Kakuda and beat him in only his second fight after a seven year lay-off was a tremendous effort given the pressure as the fight was billed as STAN'S BROTHER vs KAKUDA -- settling a debt, as Stan had beaten Kakuda years ago and the Japs billed this as Kakuda's revenge, sorta, on the Longinidis name... only thing is the no one showed George the script and he stuck to a simple gameplan and won the fight. Kakuda aint much chop as a fighter these days, but he is TREMENDOUSLY POPULAR in Japan... he gets as big a cheer as the top fighters like LeBanner and Sefo and Aerts do... the dude just won Japan's version of DANCING WITH THE STARS.

By the way, from what I hear and know, I dont think George is looking to be a career fighter... he is training again cos he loves it, has a taste for it and yes of course he can use his famous name to open doors that other low tier guys cant... and why not. Stan sweated and bled for years and if that opens up some doors for George, so be it.

Personally, if George ever thought about becoming a career fighter, it would be great as Melbourne needs a new heavyweight personality and the name Longinidis still piques interest.

George is an exact duplicate of Stan IMO, minus the credentials. Same look, physique (George might be more ripped), and even the same stance. From what i saw though he looked to have the goods but not enough to take on Paul and Peter.

I thought he was retiring after his fight with Kakuda?

Good on george for still having the heart and the will to be training hard and getting in the ring , I understand what its like to do "both" of those things and his love for the sport must be strong , I'm sure we all would love to see any australian do well as long as its all legit and above board and real opponents etc , I know that there is nothing better in my books than going along to a great run Fight Night and watching guys who are "fully fit, well prepared, focused, talented and well matched" getting it on ...........anything less than this is just not fair on the paying customer ! ( I still believe the Local suburban shows in Melbourne are the best matched fights around.....scida/vukovic shows!). Give George a go before putting him down , the guy deserves at least that ....and as long as he is billed as an up and coming fighter at this point and not Main Event status (Top Billing for our best Talent is still the ONLY way !!)why shouldn't he fight .

Good Luck George .....prove them wrong!
