Adamek by majority decision in a tough close fight. Briggs dropped Adamek in the first but the pole fought right back. I had Paul winning the 1st(10/8), 4th(10/9), 5th(10/9), 6th(10/9), 10th(10/9) and 11th(10/9). The 9th Adamek was winning till he had a point taken off for a low blow so a 9/9 even round. The rest of the rounds were clearly Adamek's; 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th and 12th. So I actually thought Paul had it by 2 points. Obviously the Judges scored fairy taps as good as power shots..
Good on ya Paul, great effort:)

word, i dont know how a judge gave it 115 to 111, that was pathetic
Ridiculous. Not the scoring, but the fact that you guys are actually making it sound like a rip off?
I had it 115-111 for Adamek and I was pulling for Briggsy as much as anyone. This fight was far from controversial, let alone a rip off.
When you are pulling for someone, it's hard to score without being biased, I think that's whats happened with you guys.
Awesome fight though, Briggs did awesome against one of the best light heavyweight titlists out there.
Thats the aussie way Tony jump up and down and claim we are the greatest if we win and if we lose ...We were robbed!!!!
Lucky were not the Turkish way where if you lose bash the c#*ts!!!

I agree with Tony. Without a doubt Adamek won the fight and i was pulling for Briggs as well.

Typical ****.
Australians, while being very passionate, are some of the most biased, racist and ignorant sporting fans in the world.
I meant no disrespect to Turks I believe they are the most passionate its just sometimes their passion leads them to react passionately eg the Gurkan ozkan fight where they all jumped in the ring to bash a poor prick trying to challenge him
Cant knock them for backing their man though they always do that!

Great fight, but Briggs was beaten.
Did Australia proud though.
Where does he go from here though? 5th ranked in the WBA, could have a crack at that.

I had it 115-113 Adamek. Great fight, just as good as the first. And it's Paul 'Firepower' Briggs from now on apparently, no longer 'Hurricane'. Kessler-Beyer next weekend, my pick is Kessler. Kessler-Adamek at 175lbs would be pretty sweet actually.

Briggs nailed him with some mad shots. Would love to see Briggs come back to Muay Thai and get a WBC belt. I reckon it could be done :)
biased, racist, ignorant and proudly an Aussie

Doesn't he have problems with his legs now which stops him from fighting thai?

good effort, fair result.
It just looked like his feet were stuck to the ring floor. That is the first fight i have seen him have, i thought he could have moved a bit more. His defence was rock solid, he bloked some huge combo's towards the end, that would have dropped most blokes.

I never said Paul was ripped so don't put words in my mouth people. The middle rounds were very close, but I gave Paul those for the sheer amount of power shots he landed. If you score powershots as good as a probing jab, then Adamek won easily.

I was goin for Paul but i only gave him a few rds without being biased and agreed with the decision of Adamek being the winner.
Briggs Should have worked more in the fight. He landed good rights but should have jabbed and threw some punches in bunches to steal some rounds and keep the pressure on.
I was worried in some of the later rounds of Briggs getting stopped. But i reckon Adamek at the end of the fight took the more punishment but deserved the fight.

I cant really comment on the fight as I didn't watch it on the weekend, but I am sad for Paul's loss.
We would all love to see paul fight MT again I'm sure he would teach carnage a thing or 2 ( I am Biased)but as far as prize $$$ goes boxing is #1 & it will take a long time for it to change. but hopefully 1 day we will get there

mmm, don't think so Promo...and yes you are biased<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
What a pity...if there is one Aussie who deserves the world title it has to be Briggsy. A KD in the first and not finishing him off will absolutely gut him for the rest of his life, but that's boxing I guess.
I saw the Adamek/Briggs first fight and if this was anything like it, Adamek is going to have some serious brain damage to deal with later in his career...get hit way too much and has too hard a jaw for his own good. He already looks like he's been put through the wringer.
What next for Briggs?
