In light of another thread the issue has been raised about how fighters should behave after winning a bout by KO.
What do peole think about fighters jumping up and down after they have just ko'd their opponent?
Should they run around and celebrate their victory?
OR
go to their corner and feel bad?
Its a fine line between being excited about your achievement and being disrespectful to an injured or ill opponent so its a grey area that could be debated for hours but each case has to be taken on its indivual case its not a broad topic I'm willing to argue either way!

When I won my fight earlier this year, I jumped around, climbed the ropes and straddled my trainer. I meant no dis-respect to my opponant (Tracy Bulger) what so ever I was just so pumped. As GoGo said it is a fine line between being over the moon and being arrogant.

Unfortunatley it is human nature.. You have just won, what you have worked for. Some people do and some don't. I myself would not.

Its just the way it is.. when u KO you feel so happy and u jump around etc, and when you loose, sum people try not to show how hurt they are, but others cry, dont sleep for ages etc. I know of fighters who cant sleep up to 2 months after a loss, thats what happens when a fighter has got a lot of pride. The important thing is to bounce back and get in there and give it your best shot.
The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

I dont know what your on about either, but if you've been around awhile like you said, you would have a clue.
How are you suppose to help a fightter up if the doctor is tending to them, and fighters who do KO their opponent always are concerned after they have jumped around a bit first!!

i think that you guys are thinking too much about it all.
This isn't something to contemplate, it is something that
just happens, GoGo was right in the first place and
'born to fight' you just keep going on about nothing.
Born to fight can you spend about 1 extra minute making sure
your comments are actually readable by the other users
of this board, its like you've got something to say but don't
care too much about the delivery.

In my opinion Bad-ass Badato is a classic example of how a fighter should NOT act when he knocks down an opponent. Good fighter an' all
but carries on a little to much me thinks.

I like to see the winner first show respect for his fallen opponent and his corner, and then give a show to the crowd....

You must know what its like to be lying on the canvas while the winner is jumping around the ring. How many times has your head hit the canvas???
Id say a few too many times cause you seem to be punch drunk!!
Your talking like true canvas hugger!!

Like Masato vs Sari. Sari was comotose and Masato was dancing around.
Also, in one of the early UFC's Tank Abbott ko'd some guy and the ko'd guy started convulsing on the mat. Tank showing his pure class made fun of him while he was ko'd/convulsing.

LMAO, nice one Al, but lucky it doesn't happen too often.
Here is one for you guys.
The Chief brutally KO's Badr Hari, the crap talking, ****e slinging bad boy of K1 after a week of bad blood between the two.
How should PG behave? I believe a certain amount of jumping up and down, pumping the air and a big f*** you to Hari fans is warranted, then some concern for his opponent.
Everything in balance I guess.

As Gogo said, there is a fine line between celebrating and going over the top, but holy crap, correct me if I am wrong, but aren't you in the ring to smash or be smashed?? I know it comes down to sportsmanship, but why should you have to act all polite and tippy toe around the ring for knocking out your opponent.
I mean, you wouldn't want to see a fighter yelling a their knocked out opponent and slitting their throat with their gloves or anything like that, as this is truly bad sportsmanship. And lets remember if you are not the one thowing the kicks or punches, your opponent is the one that will be doing the knocking out. And what do you think he/she is going to do when they knock you out??
Thats my point. More than happy to get your critisism on that.

Any seen the 2005 K1 Max?...I think it's world max (not the Max GP but the won thats after it)...anyway Zambidis destroyed his Japanese opponent with leg kicks and as soon as the fight was called off he helped pick the fallen fighter up and carry him to his corner....now that's good sportsmanship.
When Buakaw KO'd Souwer in the final he had every right to jump around because he had fought his ass off in 3 fights in one night and felt he was ripped off the year before by Souwer.
I guess it's how you feel at the time and the situation.
Personally i don't jump around...i just stay humble but that's just a personal preference.

Also, after Buakow ko'd Shishido he did a cartwheel and then jumped on the ropes all while Shishido was out cold on the canvas.
That was a little cold.

JWP jumped up on the ropes and celebrated when he recently knocked Soren out but then went to see if Soren was ok, I think this is a sign of a great fighter.
It human nature to feel the excitement of just winning the fight you have trained so hard for and knowing with in yourself that you were that on fire that you knocked your opponent out and you can't stop that feeling but then going over to see if your opponent is ok shuold I think always be taken into consideration, especially if the KO was bad.
just my opinion.
Totally agree with Sarsha. one of the things I love about this sport is when fighters shake hands or hug after a bout. Mick Little from Queensland knocked out his opponent in SA last oct then helped him walk back to his corner. Respect.

what about the time when stan the man knocked out his opponent cold(whose name skips my mind at the moment) and instead of celebrating stan was crying as he thought he killed his opponent...now is that showing great sportsmanship?
