The night that Sam Soliman smashed Nick Tetoris Stan Longinides acted like a total ****er. I grew up worshipping Stan but after the way he acted when the judges awarded the fight against Nick was bull****. That night Stan your arrogance lost you a fan who really admired you.

When do you think the crowd started to dislike Baris?

I first started noticing the booing early rounds of the fight with Zambidis. Strangely though, they didn't boo, or at least I don't remember them doing it when he walked into the ring.

What happened during that fight. I saw Baris look at Mike's corner and grab his crotch. I don't know if it was just from the frustration of Mikes inpenatrable defence or goodness knows what.

After that I saw similar from a small percentage of the crowd, hissing and booing, even though Baris was fighting for a World title against a Korean fighter. I was totally disgusted. I'm sure I'm not the only guy whom absolutely hates seeing fighters booed. Bad bad manners.

But anyway, ever since then I've only seen Baris fight in Sydney, and the crowds reactions have progressivly gotten worse since. And I've not understood why he hasn't been fighting before a home crowd. The last time I've seen Baris truly treated with respect by an audience is when he fought the preacher. Prior to that I saw the house erupting as he walked out to fight Goran Danilovic, where he ended up winning by massive K.O.

It been a very strange progression.

Sucuc.....are you sure you want to bring up the topic of racism?, I used to live in Bankstown in Sydney, I've had a coke bottle thrown by a passing car and hit me in the head(didnt hurt??)whilst I was doing sprints at a local soccer field for no apparent reason and told I was a skippy ****wit.
My Wife who is of Vietnamese parents has been surrounded at the train station twice and hassled(no I wasnt there, I was at work)for no reason, I'm not going to say what nationality these clowns were for the sake of starting poo fight on the forum, but i'm sure you could guess if you read the news papers.
What is a racist Aussie?, is Mundine a racist Aussie because he seems to have a problem with us skippy Aussies?...even though his Mums one, Does it make someone a racist if they take (for example)a Turkish flag into the ring with them when they were born in Australia?...does that mean they dont like Australians?, we condem each other for following customs that our parents have taught us, I think racism has always been there & it looks like it always will be, sad as it may be, everyone has probably suffered racial descrimination at some time, yes even skippys, this discussion cant be solved, I didnt even want to write this post, but I wanted to know what a racist Aussie was to you..maybe they have reason to be that way, like you do, my best friend Tas has very strong ties with Greece, so I dont think i'm racist, but I cant stand people who place this country second to another one after they make it there home.

I think that you are putting to much thaught into this racism crap. Being a "skippy" growing up in the country I think that I was immune to such intolerance. I didn't even know what racism was until I started learning about it in History. Living in the city now I really enjoy the different cultures that exist around here. A lot of my friends are Italian, Maltese, Greek and Vietnamese. All these people are great Aussies who still have pride in there heritage. I get a lot out of sharing meals with them and learning about there culture. I think that some people mistake a persons pride in their families herritage as a form of Racism. How is Gurkan waving the Turkish flag or Cathy Freeman wearing the Aboriginal flag seen to be racist? I think that it is great that athletes spotlight there herritage and culture.

Back on the subject. Barris has been a great fighter over the years. I always took him to be rather humble. I have talked to him numerous times in the past and alway had something relevent and fair to say. I would never have taken him to be arrogant. Barris has definitly taken a huge fall from grace since the Zambidies fight.

Vella has to be retired. It has been years since the hitman has been heared of.

For some reason I dont like Misakie Satake. I think its cos hes just so goofy lookin.

Although I wouldnt go so far as to say i dislike a guy I don't know,I'll never forget Tosca Petrides making rude gestures to Stan's family (which included his father and sister) sitting at ringside during the Stan vs Sam fight.

I personally don't hate anyone in particular but I do hate watching Paul Lee, Soliman, Tony Antonio and a few others, I dont hate them but they just have no entertainment value for me. The night that Gurkan fought Vermes and pulled that crazy **** pissed me off and I dont like how Tarik and hedgecock seem to have some all to close pre-determined knowldge of how the fights are going to turn out.
