Hey fellow members, Axekick and I have discovered that Zam is not fighting BAris Nezif... Axe reckons it is a mystery!
If anyone has any credible information, please post it!

Does anyone think it may be a re-match with JWP?
It's going to have to be someone pretty bloody good. I mean otherwise it's not worth flying Zam out.
I' m still very much hoping we do see the re-match with Baris. I just honestly hope that Baris has a couple of fights in between, because Zambidis and Parr are up their as the absolute benchmark of 70kgs. I'd like Baris to be able to step in there absolutely confident he can do it.
Wayne, any news for us?

I spoke to JWP on "HIS FORUM" http://boonchu.cjb.net/ and said that Tarik approached him about fighting Zam under Kickboxing rules as it would be for zams title. Jwp had a few days to think about it However in the meantime Tarik had found a replacement.... Who is it? Who could it possibly be?
- not Baris
- not JWP
Possibly The Rock? (does the rock fight kb rules only?)

Janer,
What crap are you trying to feed us.
- JWP- would love for you to get back in the ring with Zambidis, with this time you being the victor. Was the best fight of the night.

hey Jwp, are you going to be fightin Zam on the Ozkan V Stan Undercard?
Also, when are you scheduled to fight the rock? Will it be on a Tarik promotion!!?
Ps- Your thoughts on the fight BAris V Alexie

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We talked to Tarik about fighting Zambidis but it had to be under kickboxing rules because he is defending his world title. A few days later we came back saying we would take the fight but Tarik had already found him another opponent.
I am not sure when the fight with Daniel will be on? There are a few promoters up here is Queensland that are offering very good money for us to fight so I think the fight will take place in Queensland. There is going to be a big story in the next IK mag about us fighting to help build it up. Should be bigger then the Scott Bannan fight after all the hype.
I never got to see the Baris fight cause I don't have Fox at home. But from what I know the Belurus fighters are very strong with the goverment giving them grants, they also send them to Thailand so they can be the best. I think Alexie should be fighting full Muay Thai because that is what he is best at. Plus I think he is also fighting guys heavier then him self, he looks to me like he shold be fighting about 66kg.

Janer,
Build a bridge and get over it.
I spoke to, refers to a in person conversation not a key stroke on your keyboard.
You even had poor JWP wondering what the hell you were going on about.
Next time just state the fact not your crap.

Hi Sucuk,
Thanks the the feed back. I know what you mean, being slow is a curse. Lucky I am a fighter and not a doctor.
Ax,
Would love to fight him again but under K-1 or even Muay Thai. Just have to wait and see what happens in the future.

Nik has had about 30 fight's.
He held the ISKA AM World Title
He also hold the finish middle weight title
He is about 190cm tall so he is quite a bit taller than Zam
When he fight's in aussie he trains with the Bulldog gym
Sorry guys that's about all i can tell you

Who, what when how??
Who is Zambidis fighting?
paul c
23-01-2003, 11:45 AM
There is going to be a huge height difference guys.
I think Mike must be about 5 feet 2 inches or so, and his opponent being 190cm.
6 feet being 180cm, this Finnish guy must be about 6 foot 3 inches.
Damn, about a foot in height difference.
Gee, he must be pretty skinny?
Rochelle,
Is he really that tall?

23-01-2003, 01:19 PM
Rochelle is he the guy who beat Eddine for the AM world title in Sydney.

23-01-2003, 04:42 PM
Hey Rochelle,
Thailand is still great. How is Oz??
Nik is pretty tall, and he did beat Adam Eddine.
He should give Zambidis a good fight.

Tarik has a habit of advertising guys that he knows won't be fighting, wonder why.. He was advertising on the radio for last years K-1 max, that Dawson was fighting, right up until the day of the day of the show(Dawson didn't fight)<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle> I think Mark Mullen is supposed to be fighting on the show also. As for the rest of the undercard, don't expect anything special(hopefully he proves me wrong for once).

24-01-2003, 11:26 AM
Hi guys
Baris and Zambidis were set to fight and it's a pity the fight won't happen because Tarik did invest money in advertising it on radio and on his flyers... now Zambidis will fight Nik Winberg from Finland who is 6'1 - a tall, lean fighter who is a former amateur world champion.
As for the undercard, it will include a four-man heavyweight K-1 tournament including (check out this for a big hitting foursome): Clay Aumitagi, Chris Chrisopoulides, Fadi Haddara and Steve Gorlick.
Also 'Headhunter' Stanley Nandex rematches Nick Barnes from Queensland, plus there are also two other fights being confirmed at the moment.
There will also be some special entertainment throughout the night which I wont reveal yet but will be heaps of fun.
As for the main event, things are definitely heating up there. Both men are looking in awesome condition in training - Gurkan is apparently spot on the money and wants to take Stan's head off... Stan has been training like an animal for this one just like the old days as he knows it is a huge risk fight.
See you all there.
Dowgy
24-01-2003, 03:49 PM
Why the hell is Nandex fighting Barnes again, isn't two times for 2 KOs enough? Bit bloody boring in my opinion.
Surely Tarik can find someone else to go round with????
Koshy
24-01-2003, 05:18 PM
I pretty sure I read that Nathan 'carnage' Corbett beat Nadex. What a fight that would be. Sure would be alot better than watching out of shape heavyweights plod around the ring throwing haymakers. That sounds a bit harsh but the quality of heavyweights in this country is appauling.
Faddi Hadara, Clay Amutagi, Nik Winberg (spelling on all ??) r we serious??? No offence to these boys, I am sure they work their asses off in the ring but is this the best we have to offer for a show??
This at vodaphone arena for God's sake, Australia is filled with soooooooooo many talented fighters, fighters with World Class potential and we keep seeing these guys (except Nik)??? I've spat the dummy lads, I'VE LOST IT!!!! Get Johnny Wayne Parr in here against Zambidis, thats a proper fight that EVERYONE wants to see! WTF is Nik???? He is tall, WOWWWWWW, can't wait!!!!!......
What about people like Arthur Tsokanis, John Hallford, Shannon F16, Daniel Dawson, Nick Kara??? Get some real good fighters, chuck em in the blender and rock the Vodaphone like it should be done. I am sure they'd sell more tickets!!
The only reason I am going is to see Stan's last fight against Gurkan and watch Zambidis in action.. As for the rest, waisting money for a show that could of been something grander. Take away Stan, Gurkan & Zam and this show would be lucky to sell out the Crown Casino (which holds not many people if you are curious). The old days, there were approx 7 - 8 fights on the night, and you saw 7 - 8 GOOD HARD FIGHTS. Now, if we r lucky to see 2 its RIPPER NIGHT! Bah!
Take no notice of me people,, on my rags big time with this sh#t
Sucuk
24-01-2003, 06:50 PM
absolutely PATHETIC undercard.
Dowgy
24-01-2003, 07:01 PM
I agree JKLA it would be fantastic to have lots of fights with fighters you never usually see on the one card ie the best that VIC, QLD and NSW have to offer. Always seems to be the same guys all the time

24-01-2003, 07:01 PM
Sorry forgot about WA they have some wicked fighters too

24-01-2003, 10:06 PM
There is no way in hell that I would pay $75 for this. Someone really needs to get Ray Matsumara or Nugget to relocate to Victoria so we can get some real quality shows!!!

24-01-2003, 10:10 PM
Ive said it many times and tarik has done it again ****en crap ass undercards!!!! what is it with tarik and his K1 heavyweights?? and why doesnt nandex fight a quality oppenent? ill tell ya why he doesnt like his fighters gettin beat so he lines them up with fighters that he knows his boy can beat.pathetic.... and he prob puts crap undercards on so ozkan and zam look better!!! cuz if dawson, jwp, halford, kara, slowinski, pixie, corbett,fo ley were on his undercard his boys would look very average. and everybody would finally see how talentless they really are.... TARIK PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR FREAKIN ASSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

24-01-2003, 11:41 PM
Zambides and Ozkan are talentless?? Are you being serious mate?

Clay V Chris has the potential of being a mad fight with lots of damage.
I'm looking forward to seeing what progress Hadara has made.
For a guy with so few fights, he had the heart of a lion.
It's OK
Ridicule me.
Rochelle
27-01-2003, 05:29 PM
Zam v's Nik should be a good fight.
Think about it if they put JWP v's Zam on, they won't be able to make money off it later in the year, why use it as a semi main event when Tarik can use it as a main event later in the year and make money.
Before you guys start puting **** on Nik why don't you wait till you see him fight. Most of you wouldn't have known who Zam was until Tarik put him on a show and now you guys love watching him fight. Give Nik a chance before you put **** on him, you never know you might feel the same way about him after this fight.
Rochelle

I think Zam Bam will b too strong for Wynberg.
It'll be just like an Ozkan v Watt replay in the height stakes.
For mine, Wynberg had Eddine in trouble before he couldn't answer the bell for the 5th round (i think) when Eddine had no wind.
Wynberg started slowly from memory and then stepped up to the mark and was a 'leggy' fighter matching Eddine in the high kick dept.
I reckon Zam will come inside Wynberg's range and take him out.
Wynberg is credentialled, but Zam will b the victor.
Moderator or Paul, can we directly upload shots here yet? I dont want to have to load onto Ax first just to get a shot put on this forum?

Hi Ian,
No, not as it is at the moment.
I believe it is possible, but would need some work done by a techy.
Sometimes as not to burden ax,
I just upload to a temp folder on my website.
It's a bit of a pain, but the only way around it for now.

Hi Michael, Thanks for the update and I for one am looking forward to the card. Some people are a touch fickle and hard to please around here but overall I think theres plenty to get excited about.
Seems fitting to that Stan Longinidis is main eventing the first ever Australian Kickboxing show on PPV, couldn't think of a person who has done more for the sport over the years locally.
P.S does anyone else think the "Cocunut Crusher" Clay Aumatagi is Australia's version of Butterbean? :D

I can hear the crowd roaring now as steps into the ring with his intro.
