no worries Russ, just tell them we think they should spend more time showing the sponsor logos on those lovely ring girls tops. just got in......f88k me that was a cracker, shame it didnt go the distance, i think it kept the fans happy though.... steve didnt want too stop, carnage too good with his elbows, steves 3rd elbow fight, was a fight worth seeing eh???
Awesome fight guys. Carnage was brilliant and Steve was tough. I had Steve winning the first and slighly ahead in that last round. Rounds 2 and 3 to Carnage ( round 2 being a 10-7 round) , so the fight was pretty much even with Carnage slightly ahead due to that second round and had it not been stopped because of the cut, we were in for a treat in that fifth round. Congrats to Carnage, brilliant stuff on his part and hats off to Steve. His third elbow fight, and going up against a techinician like Corbett, I'd have to say he did extremely well. Showed plenty of guts too, taking the elbows and then coming back and delivering some of his own. Both warriors!!

No worries :)
The main event was awesome, best live fight i've seen. Shouldn't have been stopped. BOTH BOYS ARE AWESOME, especially Carnage, Steve is as tough as, huge heart to come back the way he did.
Ref stoppage in the Graham vs Malchanau fight was a joke-blatent cheating. If he was consistant(not cheating) he would have stopped the main event in rnd 2, & my boy didn't even go down to the canvas??? S*#%s me!! Why is a boxing ref reffing kickboxing main events anyway??? Anyway Andrei was doing well. He gave away 20kg & it was his 1st heavyweight fight. We couldnt get him a fight at his weight(low 90's) so in true form to the amount of guts this boy has, he said he'd have a crack at Graham. Not many out there would do the same i'd say? I also must say Graham is a true gentleman of the sport & shows great respect to his opponents, he also never hits opponents in the back of the head/neck after the ref calls break hahaha.
Rock was rusty but a building process for him. He did well.
The Barron vs Jabout was entertaining, but unfortunate.

Another incident that could have really made great headlines for the sport.

chill out Daz, nothing personal mate, just my opinion. I think your boy did well considering the big weight difference. I would really like to see him fight again but I think the weight difference in the shots that landed would have made the diffence.
Either way, your boy should absolutely have got an 8 count, and I would have been chatting the Ref as well. You have every right to be pissed (not at me though)

Carnage has lost 3. The third was in the past 12mths in Japan (Titans maybe) where he put the slipper in to a falling fighter and was DQ'd. Pretty suss decision by the ref but nevertheless counts.

Awesome! I cannot believe how much blood there was on steve's face. Everytime Nathan hit Mac in the head, blood sprayed all over the place, it looked crazy in all the lights. So thrilled to have been there and see two of the best slug it out. It was inspirational seeing steve covered in blood and come back firing after getting downed by Carnage. The best fight i have and probably will see in a long time. Awesome!!!!

Sorry to get off the topic of Mac and Carnage for a sec. But can smoebody explain WTF the ruling was with Te Huna and his Jap opponent?
Why was the fight allowed to go on? If he hammered his shoulder and couldn't defend himself where in the rules does the ref step in, stops him from getting knocked out, pop's his shoulder back in and then allows the fight to go on...with him taking it out?
VERY VERY AVERAGE TO ME.

absolutely no idea of the rules, but the ref stopped the floor hug due to lack of action and got the boys to reposition themselves. This is when Tehuna was allowed up. Maybe that stoppage rule allowed him time to pick his arm up and put it back on????? just guesses.

one of the most amusing things i've ever seen... tehuna rises cant move his arm... they call for the doc, who attempts to pop it back in with no success, all the while this HUGE bloke in his corner waving fore them to bring him over, so they send him to the corner and bang the big fella pops it back in and on the fight goes... yes it was mid-round and no there was no explanation, very strange considering earlier the other fight was stopped due to the very same thing... of course that bloke didnt look to keen on having it put back in with everyone watching... dont know about the legitimacy of the whole thing but it made for good watching
still cant get over the guy in the corner... he looked keen as to have a go a popping that sucker back in, must be his speciality...

Well Corbett showed why he's so dangerous with elbows, you only need to leave a 2mm opening and he'll slip a elbow through.... any opening in your defence and he takes full advantage of it. McKinnon showed what a Huge heart and fighting spirit he has also, although i would have liked to see him not back himsilf into the corners as often, I feel it made him a bit of a easier target for Corbett to nail at times.
It was the Best Heavy Weight Muay Thai fight I have seen yet in OZ.

I don't know why Nathan doesn't step up to K-1... I mean that is where the money is and where the better opponents are. There's much more talent at heavyweight to fight than at cruiserweight which is a limited division IMO.
Does the weight spook him?
Is it because it would be without elbows?
Is it the limited knees that worries him?
From what I've been told in the past it is a problem carrying the weight to match it with the 100kg + guys... but there are smaller guys like Chalid Arrab, Mohammed Magamedovm Stefan Leko, Mike McDonald and even Ray Sefo who don't have the enormous stature but have all made the transition from lighter weights to heavy weight very well and have had success in K-1.

What an amazing night! I still cant talk properly from screaming my head off.. Do you have any idea how hard it is to scream the word carnage for 15 minutes straight ha ha
Hat goes off to McKinnon for puttin on such a brave face and continualy gettin back into that blood bath. But many applause to The true Champ CARNAGE who proved once again why he is the king of the elbows, and the best in his game.
checked out thoes pics of the gashes in both lads head, McKinnons looks smaller than i thought but maybe its because the bleding was coming from the other holes in his head?? All i can say was it looked like that scene fom "CARRIE" with the pigs blood... His head was covered!!
would like to see a rematch eventually but i think there are some other opponents that the fans wouldlike to see matched up with Corbett more... Like Ramazan?
The whole card was great, and the rising team put on a hell of a show.. god thoes Tokyo shock boys are crazy little buggars arent they. Would have been better on the gold coast though as i thought some of the sydney spectators showed poor showmanship. But glad as it went smoothly cuz now the gold coast council and police might wind down there hyne hairs and start to support the sport and the shows more.

About the Te Huna incident.
Firstly the referee was Cameron Quinn who is by far the best referee in Australia. If you think you know the rules better than him, your kidding yourself.
In a fight, when a fighter gets cut, the fight can be stopped for the doctor to check the cut correct? Maybe the same criteria applies for this? However for cuts, the corner can not get involved and is usually stopped when there is no action by either fighter.
Im not 100% on the rules and also thought it was strange but knowing Cameron Quinn, ill trust his judgement.
Downcut, can i ask what MMA promotions and fights you have seen? I think most shows (well in QLD) are run very professional. Guessing KOTC? Of course you did get controversial decisions but same with muay thai.

Hey guys!
Well Well, SOunded like a battle never to be forgotten.
by the sounds of it Steve got backed into a corner a few times adn got opened up by a barrage of attacks in the corner.
Steve in his younger days was a higher energy fighter who didn't wait to size up opponents before he opened up.
He learnt to hold back in muay thai fights against thai fighters to size them up. to show them respect and not to be surprised. Of course it would have been the same with Corbett being the champ.
To be honest I thought Corbett would win. Steve was due for a loss. and a few losses will only make you come back stronger.
Even the sting has had a few big losses and now he's dominating harder.
I have no doubt that there's a few big fights left in Steve before he joins his brother at ring side.
Has anyone got more pics of videos of the fight. All I've seen Is the pics of the cuts. Steve's was a crater, but carnage had a lake down his eye. I wanna see the fight.
It must have been insane.

I think Steve only fought 1 thai, on Jabouts show.....and Carnage was only his 3rd thai fight..
Having said that, the rematch I think we'll see a different and BETTER Steve Mck, having learnt from this one..
Bushi

... we could also see a much more vicious Carnage, althought Steve will get better with more thai fights due to experience, Carnage will only pul out more tricks from his goodie bag as he is still further ahead when it comes to knowlage and skill of the sport
Its like the saying goes.. Corbett is "alot like a fine red wine, only getting better with age!" ha. (Or in this case, fights)
