Let's try and fill in some blanks guys.
Stan V Gurkan
Baris V Zam
Nandex V ????
And two no rules fights.
Hopefully someone can give us more 'who's fighting' info.
I think we're going to need another high profile super fight for a 12000 seat arena.

Actually, It would be good if Tarik got the JWP Vs Dawson fight on this show.

If a fight between JWP and Dawson goes ahead and it looks like it will, I'd actually like to see this fight as a main event. Simply because I think there would be more action in this bout than the one between Ozkan and Stan.:)

It may not to be an action packed toe-to-toe fight however you never know!!. No one else in aussie kickboxing can boast about Gurks and Stans fight career.
Harls, I hope you dont mean that JWP & Dawson should be the main event on the no respect night? That would be a serious joke. No one would turn up to fill the seats at the vodaphone arena! EVeryone who knows kickboxing knows STan the man, and everyone who knows excitement knows Ozkan. Victorians havent seen much of JWP and wouldnt pay $$$$$$ for a top seat.
And Stan isnt fighting a bum to make easy money. If Stan is to win, he has to win convinsingly as there wont be any dodgy decision going to him... We all know stan can beat Ozkan easily, but that gives a reason to train and fight for his life!

I'm suggesting the JWP v Dawson fight be a main event on another show. Both fights will be great and both are worthy of top billing, though I'd rather see JWP v Dawson myself.

Also I don't think the seats will be filled at the Vodaphone arena for any show yet(even the K-1 grand prix held there last year didn't sell out), but it would be good for the sport if it was...

Good point Janer, if theres going to be a dodgy decision it will be probably be AGAINST Stan a la the Sam Greco fight.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Stan had his choice of some more reputable fighters for his next fight, but chose Gurkan because he'll be an easier fight........

Guys,
What I was meaning was,
We saw Stan, Gurkan, Graham, Chris, Baris and an unknown Mike fill Festival Hall. It looked pretty packed out and I wonder how many more seats would have been filled if the seats were available.
This arena is 4 times the size, so I thought that maybe having a further superfight would help fill more of the empty seats.
I have to agree with the comment about even a K1 GP having trouble filling the venue.
I absolutely hope I'm wrong though.

We're not all going to see eye to eye but I've seen alot of Gurkans fight, back at the glass house and dallas brooks hall, nothings changed, I'm saying that he would've been the easier choice.
Think what you want, I don't consider someone that races across the ring to bombard the other fighter with a heap of punches very skilled, so he's got got alot of power..............

John K, the slam em sam greco fight was a dodgy decision but stan finaly got a piece of his own cake....

I agree ponyman! i dont rate gurkan either! JWP and DAWSON would be a much better fight to see. they have more skill, are tougher and would have plenty more action.

Guys,
Skill and action don't necessarily have to go hand in hand.
We've discussed it before, some of you guys love nothing more than to watch fights full of skilled grappling, where as some of us start yawning.
I don't care how effective grappling is.
Shakespeare might have been skilled and talented, but he bored the sheit out of me.
Ozkan does what works for him. He knocks people out with his hands.
Just because he isn't as skilled with his kicks as Wayne or Dawson, it doesn't mean that he can't excite people with the way he fights. Some of us like seeing early and viscious KO's.
I don't see why we have to consistently compare Kickboxers to guys that fight MT. And, you guys that prefer MT will allways knock kickboxers.
Do you see anyone here bagging JWP or Daniel Dawson simply because we prefer Kickboxing. No, we respect them.

beautifully said Paul! Even Stan says he respects Gurkans toughness and accomplishments so if guy of Stans stature can see it, why cant people at least respect Gurkan? Gurkan has fans like myself and Gurkan doesnt have to beat Stan to be a winner, the fact is he is taking on a legend of kickboxing and going to give it a shot that few others in his position would be willing to take. What other 80kg fighter would take on heavyweights as much as him? Big deal if Gurkan loses the fight, he still is a winner! He doesnt have to win to please true fans like myself.
Hey Janer I think you are being unfair to "The Man" as well, nobody "deserves" to get ripped off! What did Stan do didnt you say you guys were mates?

Oh yeah as a fan of both Stan and Gurkan I will be screaming for both!:)
JWP vs Dawson would be a great fight but it would not sell out anything bigger than 1500 on it's own. Paul, I think it might be a struggle to get the 12000. We'll see the commercials come on TV early next year as they roll into full advertising but 12000 is a lot of seats.

Rebel, the stan comment isnt as bad as it looks in text! I was not trying to be negative.
Gurkan is a showman, every fight you watch of his is exciting. Stan introduced me to the sport and I will be cheering both guys on.
Do you guys think Stan will be fit for the fight???

Back to Paul C, I wasn't comparing MT with kickboxing when I stated I'd prefer to see JWP V Dawson, I think you may have jumped the gun a little. I simply think it will be a better fight, two highly skilled competitors(and no, skilled doesn't always mean boring) with solid work rates and a history of intense previous bouts. If I wanted to see brawling(like Gurkan's style most of the time), I'll go to the Pub. If it was Stan against some other big name(Greco, Hunt etc), I believe it would a better fight. I apologize if I offended any Gurkan fans out there but I don't really like watching Gurkan fight, maybe if he threw more kicks...

Well for the zam v jwp fight???don't know what to say were was the extension round??? and if it had of gone extra sorry guys he's a great fighter but zam would have lost he looked stuffed! I haven't really watched jwp as much as this year but he is really a great competitor and looked the goods and should go to japan.why dont we see a rematch over 8 rounds on the super "no respect" show in feb then we'll see who the champ is zam looked for the first time in aus like he knew that he was lucky to win and jwp looked like he could go another 2-3 rounds.let's all push for that rematch to happen it would be awesome! As for those who bag Gurkan about his style of fighting take a good look and see who he has backed down too? No-one!why haven't any other super middleweights done what he's done or middle weights go up to super?NO HEART AND NO COURAGE!We all go to these fights and watch them on Fox who may i add do a great job for the sport to see and be entertained and this is what Gurkan and all other fighters do. The no respect show will test out Stan who is a real legend but u also got to remember Gurkans fought Watt, robinson, and other heavyweights as well as graham who is only guy to go distance with stan at festival hall in 2000 remember! Its gonna be a cracker! My prediction OZKAN BY KO all the best guys for the new year!

I would love to see Jwp vs zam over 8-10 rounds but JWP himself said he wouldn't fight Zam in a kickboxing fight. But we can hope for a 12 rounder I guess! Pete M where did Zambidis say he was a Thai Fighter in International Kickboxer? (every time I hear Thai Fighter I think of those space ships Tie Fighters in Star Wars):)
