Kirik, This would be a dream event man! Queensland think they are better than us VIctorians so it should be a war!! We will demolish them in kickboxing rules guarantee! But it would be exciting!!!
To be honest a Jacobs V Ozkans fight should be a seperate event all together. AS A SUPER DUPER EXTRAVEGANZA ULTMATE BOUT! not a semi!
I like the idea alot maaaaaate.

I think it is a ripper of an idea too. Regarding rules, because Vic is primarily a kickboxing state and Qld is a Muay Thai state, I think we should meet half way. How bout Modified Thai/K-1 rules? Also if Jacobs was unavailable to fight, You could put in another rematch- Ozkan Vs Elson! I "think" elson beat Gurkan previously with knee's to the head if I recall correctly. You could have Themalakis Vs Finlayson, rematch Nezif with McFie, Behic Vs Corbett(I think Shannon retired), Monkongtong Vs Hassan, Mullen Vs Adam the Aggressor and what about a grouse girlfight too, maybe Skinner Vs Wanita from Boonchu(Amy Birch would be great too, but I'm not sure what state she's from). What do you guys and gals think?

I like the idea, I was at Scott Bannans last promotion about 3 weeks ago which was QLD VS NSW in which NSW obviously got bashed under full thai rules, all K.O.'s except for 1 match.
If VIC and QLD did meet it would have to be at least modified thai rules, why are we always expected to come out of our element and sacrafice our techniques, I used to train with alot of boxers who thought kickboxers were a bit of a joke, they'd always want to spar.....but only with hands obviously, knowing full well that if we spared under OUR rules and started elbowing, kneeing and kicking they might come out of the session a bit embarrassed...maybe if the money was right the fighters could be talked into two separate matches a couple of months apart, one in Melbourne under kickboxing rules and the second in Bris under full thai rules, i'd like to see Soren,Bruce Mcfee,Parr,Ben Burton,Warren Elson and Tri Ming on our team, i'd be very confident with that.
Muay Thai is to me the way the sport should be, thats what the Thai's intended, kickboxing was introduced to make the sport 'exceptable' to those who could'nt comprehend the unpadded elbows and knees, ask Damien Myer..Queenslanders think their better you say, well...maybe we are :)

QLD is better so is WA and SA than the kickboxing VICS. under K1 rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if you cant fight with atleast knees then dont fight. because MT is the future. Kickboxing only still exsists in VIC and SYDNEY and sydney WELL need i say more. The only reason the vics dont like knees and elbows is because its hurts and whenever they do fight under modified thai rules they lose or get KNOCKED OUT with you guessed it a KNEE to the head!

Themlarkis VS Finlayson. Themlarkis would get taken to school.. And Monkongtong VS Hassan easy victory for soren.. QLD would win every fight under K1 rules.. AND please VIC no SHINPADS.

sethridge you are quickly becoming a very annoying character. Kickboxing exists around the world, as does K-1, as does Muay Thai. Accept it and deal with it. If you think kickboxers are pieces of **** why dont you try and spar with a couple of the champs out there and see how you do pal? Or try telling them to their face that if they don't fight with knees every time they step in the ring then they shouldn't fight. Try telling them that you idiot. You cult idiots who do nothing but harp on about kinees, knees, knees and how anyone who isn't a master in that art is useless are the biggest morons in the fight world. Its the equivalent of some little kids arguing about dik size. I thuink all you Muay Thai faggarts are useless and unless you learn how to do submission and UFC then you are all hopeless because unless you fight No Rules you shouldn't fight! And UFC and PRIDE is the way of the future, everything else is inferior. Does that sound like the ramblings of a moron? Take a look in the mirror pal.

Agree with you their John!!! There are right and wrong ways to say things and most of the QLD boys think there **** don't stink.
Why would you try and compare Muay Thai fighters against kickboxers, they are 2 very different sports with different rules. It's like comparing Football to Rugby. Those in there own sport are going to be better than those from another sport and trying to compare by taking away fighter's tool's is just ridiculous.
Look at JWP, I'm sure he feels much more comfortable fighting Muay Thai than USA rules kickboxing, Why? Because he is one of the best in the Muay Thai sport. Smarten up boys and look at the big picture.

The concept of Qld v Vic is an interesting one, but Harls a lot of these matches that you come up with would see many of the Vics being ko-ed. Finlayson is way out of Themalkis' league and Monkontong would do the same to Hassan.
I see sethridges point of view and I think it is wrong for John K to be knocking knee fighters as they tend to be tough fellars. Kneeing and grappling is an acquired art that takes a lot of skill and is not just "love making" as someone else on the forum has posted.
Cheers

Not this again, Just relax guys! Axekick 157 was right when he stated that Muay Thai Kickboxing and USA rules Kickboxing are both quite different, so comparing the two will always be difficult. But John K, don't knock Muay Thai fighters. You complain about sethridge and tell him to spar a few kickboxing champions when he is stating his opinion, well after calling us "cult morons" and "Muay Thai Faggarts", I like to see you take your own advice and do the same with a Muay Thai champion. Also don't forget if it wasn't for the Thai who fought the previously undefeated Benny the Jet many years ago, Western kickboxing would still be restricted to above waist kicks only, leg kicks were and are still a muay thai trademark that western kickboxing has adopted(leg kicks in the ring were unheard of until that fight), funny that. So it works both ways. As for the UFC, Muay thai stylists such as Maurice Smith are going good in the events. Ground work does help in these events as the sport is mostly fought by grapplers, but it isn't always needed. Alot of guys are KO'd in stand up. Also in response to Barry, I don't think the match ups I came up with are that bad, considering if it was fought Modified Thai/K-1 rules. Sure the Qld boys would be the favourites but I couldn't really think of some other suitable opponents for Kirik's post. :)

Dont cry john BOOHOO!! everyone has their opinion and thats mine so stiff s%*t. And if iam annoying you TOO BAD cuz iam here to stay haha. dont get so worked mate!!! just cuz the truth hurts .LOL.
So kickboxers got the leg kicks from MT.....then Mt got punches from boxing.......or karate. They use to knee in the gladiator battles 100's of years ago...so I guess MT got their knees from the old Romanian gladiators.

Some of you guys seem to have trouble figuring things out. My rant on Muay Thai was supposed to display to u how stupid it sounds when someone style bashes and tries to dictate to these warriors what they should and shouldn't do. Get it? I'm not nturally stupid enough to truly believe that **** I wrote, but some people are when it comes to no knee fights. My thing about No Rules being the ultimate follows the same logic you guys use to trash normal kickboxing. I don't believe it I am just trying to prove a point to you. Harls you get upset at what I say but its OK for sethrigg to insult those guys who sweat blood saying they should get out and quit if they don't fight knees every time. Buddy every class figher makes the sacrifice and puts in the work whether you box, kickbox, Muay Thai or whatever. Be logical and if you want to jump on me then jump on those guys who trash other styles.

"MT is the Future"
Not long ago there was a thread on Ax discussing the possibility of new rule changes to K-1. It seems that some would like to see knees dropped because more often than not it involves some grappling.
I disagree that MT is some kind of step forward.
All it is, is an alternate set of rules, that in Melbourne are not as popular.
MT is more popular in Queensland sure, and all the power too you.
But I honestly don't feel too robbed or that I'm missing out on anything.

Guys, remember a recent post of mine, I like ALL combat sports, kickboxing definately included. If you can find a unpleasant comment from me regarding kickboxing(good luck), feel free to quote me. There is room for everyone and for what they enjoy most. True I am defensive about thai boxing but I am sick of most of the guys on the forum rubbishing the style. Sure you may prefer standard kickboxing and thats fine, but that doesn't mean that some of you guys have to feel the need to bag Muay Thai i.e. referring to grappling as lovemaking! Remy, I stated that leg kicks being thrown in a western kickboxing bout were unheard of up until that bout, Fact. I never stated that other styles never had their own leg kicks, but that they just weren't being used, and now well after that fight, leg kicks are commonplace in kickboxing.:)

Chris is too heavy for those guys, Chris is in the 70's. Pixie's 66 or so, and Kurt is 64. Dodge is more Chris's weight.
