The next C-Class Shooto (Amateur) Contenders Series Mixed Martial Arts Tournament, sponsored by Synthetek, is to be held tomorrow (Saturday, 11th February, 2006) in Melbourne, Australia.

Details: Saturday, 11th February, 2006 Weigh-in 12pm Matches Commence from 1pm Venue: Extreme Mixed Martial Arts gym, Level 1/680 Warrigal Rd. Malvern East Victoria Australia

There are over 30 registered MMA competitors from Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, and Western Australia at the following weightclasses:

Lightweight (65.0kg or less) Welterweight (70.0kg or less) Middleweight (76.0kg or less), Light Heavyweight (83.0kg or less), Cruiserweight (91.0kg or less), Heavyweight (110.0kg or less), and at Superheavyweight (110.0kg or more).

Teams represented include SA BJJ, Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Kimekai, Dominance MMA, Echuca MMA, Vincent Perry/ Gracie De Been, Northside Boxing Gym, Physical Revolution, Black Belt Studios, Fight Club, Boxingworks, Renshinkan, and Extreme Mixed MMA.

All spectators are very welcome - $5 attendance. Limited space is available.

SHOOTO MIXED MARTIAL ARTS
C-Class Shooto Contenders Series Tournament Saturday, 11th February 2006

Saturday 11th February saw the first (Amateur) Shooto Contenders Series Mixed Martial Arts Tournament at the Extreme Jiu-Jitsu & Grappling Gym in Melbourne, Victoria.

It was a full house as a large number of dedicated competitors traveled from Western Australia, New South Wales, South Australia, and country Victoria. The crowd enjoyed some exciting bouts with fierce striking, and technically impressive submission techniques.

A noteworthy observation is that most of the competitiors were white belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and were able to perform very well.

Congratulations to all fighters and coaches, who conducted themselves with enthusiasm, good sportsmanship and grace. Thank you also to all spectators for their support.

Thank you to Ron Mehr from our new sponsor Synthetek, who generously supplied a tub of L-Glutamine for all competitors. We look forward to a long and successful association with Synthetek.
