Since the last thread was hijacked, I put a new one up. :) The first fight was awesome and too close to not have a rematch. I think it's a definite for a Tarik Solak show in Melbourne in 2003!

HIJACKED! lol You got that right! They took over the thread... lol

A rematch with k1 rules is ideal. Knees is alowed and grappling is minimal which makes it a fast rather than a tired looking fight.

I seriously think if the fight went one more round, Zam was going to knock out JWP. It will be a great rematch and I would love to see a result over more rounds. Three rounds isnt enough to show your stuff! However, Zam would finish Parr in 6rounds via a overhand right. JWP got rocked by that same punch at the end of the second...

I dont know guys but did you sense a weakness in Zam's fitness? I have never seen him tired in a fight before!! did you see him huff and puff alot more? (maybe it was a toll of going flat stick with PNG and jenk, I think to much play with his stunna of a mrs rather than training! hehe)

i think he was tired from that flat out war with jenk. true jenk copped all the pounding from that fight, but mike worked very hard!

I did notice Mike was looking very tired. I think this is because most of the fighters he has fought in the past, once they taste his power, they tend to back off giving him a chance to breathe and use footwork in between flurries(eg. his fight with F-16). Also he hurts most of his opponents early on in his fights giving him the chance to really do as he pleases. On tues night nobody was really intimidated by him(Parr & Jenk)and they all took the fight to him forcing him to work. I still believe Parr more than deserves a rematch because of the dodgy decision tuesday night and K-1/modified thai rules would be the fairest(JWP leaves his elbows at home & Mike adds knees to his arsenal- both clear disadvantages to both men, which would make it fair and even). As for who would have KO'd who if it went any longer, you guys said it Mike was getting very tired, wayne's knees were taking the starch right out of him, so I'd have to say JWP would have finished him with a knee to the head as mike's head was starting to come down and JWP would reply with 6-10 knees when he would get caught by a punch. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I would have favored Mike in an extra round. True he was tired, but so was JWP and JWP was also reeling a bit from Mike's attacks in the last round. It would be good to see them both fight again when they are not worn out a bit from previous fights on the night.

I totally agree. A rematch in any form between these two equally talented gentlemen would be fantastic, especially when both are fresh! Thai style v traditional style always makes for interesting viewing. Though I definately think when two fighters of the same ability fight, some degree of luck will always be involved!
