World of Boxing Newspaper printed in Howard Leighs section that Stan is contemplating a return to boxing.Last time he fought was on the Fenech/Tony Miller undercard in 1987 against Commonwealth Cruiserweight Champ Apollo Sweet which he lost.Does anyone have any info on this??What possible direction could they be taking at this stage of his career??Maybe a fight with Jimmy Thunder who is now fighting out of Australia.
It sounds bizare to say the least!

Wow, too cool.
A fight with Jimmy thinder would be pretty exciting.
I hope it eventuates. Maybe he just wants to spend a full couple of years fighting Dean.

Guys,
How many of you believe that a fighter should retire at his peak or just on the downslide??
I mean like, If a fighter is a world champion and is nearing his mid 30s, do you guys feel that it's best to retire as king of the hill?
Not long ago we had people questioning the sensibility of putting Alex tui in the K1 Max.
The questioning is far enough.
I still like to watch Alex tui fight. I would love to see him fight another fighter approaching mid 30s. I guess I still see the Star quality there. I'm not suggesting he should be fighting 22 year old world champions like Mike Zambidis, but I'd love to see perhaps some re-matches with guys whom were at their peaks near the time of Alex's.
I'm just using Alex as an example. I reckon as long as it's safe for fighters to fight at 38-43, and if they still love doing what their doing, then why not. I'll be there to watch and support them.
Perhaps I'm a little too sentimental, but I think it would be cool to have like a veterans thing happening for guys over 35 who are still in better nick than guyes in their late 20s.
Put it this way. I rang Stan before, laughing, and said "Did you know you're contemplating a move to boxing?" He said "Am I?"
I don't know where Howard gets his "news" from, but I can tell you he either made it up or is printing completely wild rumours and passing it off as fact.
