choi had some kinda injury during training in Holland and he's not gonna be able to fight. and looks like Aerts is pretty much 100% against current champ Shilt.
all i'm saying it's time for Lumberjack to start chopping some tall trees down...
you brothers down under are gonna have one awsome fight night.

shilt will not lose. i was sent the grand prix final this week and the guy is a frickin machine at the moment. the way he uses his reach with his very effective push kick, devastating knees and his go go gadget jab is awesome. it suprised me how little he used his low kicks tho considering he has a karate back ground. he will beat up aerts like he did hoost just not long ago.

no doubt shilt comes off of the most dominating WGP win since Aerts did it in total of 6:00 minutes in '98. shilt is the future but i don't think he's so invincible as he seems right now. yeah his advantage is his height and the way he uses his knees and front kicks... i think its just matter of time if somebody figures him out coz he's pretty one dimetional.
he's gonna have a problem against great punchers like JLB, Ignashov, Mo and even Sefo if he gets his revenge... Ignashov knocked him out in 2004 what wasn't even a power punch. he's definitely not undefeatable.

its not a matter of figuring schilt out, because everyone knows what to do to beat him on paper. actually doing it is a different story.
schilts loss to iggy means little right now. everyone has a bad day but how many of those can you see on the horizon for schilt? contrast that with ignashov. who would you put youir money on if they fought tomorrow?
schilt is hot right now and he has confidence. he has found his rythym, he has confidence in his style now and he will be extermely hard to beat for a while, and it wont be a short, limited puncher like mo or sefo that beats him. i'll put my money on that.

Awesome

Holy crap! What a huge lineup. The addition of Aerts to the card makes this show even better (although I would loved to have seen Choi in real life - just for the freak factor, not necessarily to see him fight).

I saw some of the fights from the last K1 final and it was unfortunate that Aerts fought Labanner first up. IMO it was by far the best fight of the night and even though Aerts won he could not continue due to injury. If Peter brings the same form as he showed that night then I agree with Gostdog... The Lumberjack will chop Schilt down.

i love aerts. go the lumberjack!!!!!!!!

Max Power, he's the man who's name you'd love to touch. But you mustn't touch! His name sounds good in your ear, but when you say it you mustn't fear! Cause his name can be said by anyone

yo Matt a loss to Iggy meant that the giant has a pretty weak chin. and thats something you can't train. it's just matter of connecting it up there. sefo missed by inches. aerts is 6'5" and he's the most technically accomplished fighter there is. lateral movement, counters and uppercuts should do it...aerts by KO. shilt is very awkward for a big fella who likes to fight inside and thats gonna be his downfall.

not a chance. schilt will win this for sure. dont get me wrong i am a big big fan of aerts but dont rate his chances right now with schilt.

sefo caught schilt cleanly a couple times. he didn't budge. he's nowhere near as chinny as you think. schilt has been stopped just like everyone else, but he doesnt appear to be chinny. iggy caught him with a shot that just buzzed him. if you've been in the ring you'd know what its like, you can catch clean shots from punchers and ride it, other times you can take a comparitively "weaker" shot in a sweet spot and you're out. thats the nature of the game.

i like peter and it would make me happy to see him win, but i cant see him winning at this stage of the game, just like i couldnt see ernesto winning.

no man none of those overhands connected cleanly. i remember thats what really pissed me off about it. but same time ray was taking those knees cleanly one after another man it was brutal to watch...
what i meant figureing him out was there really havent been any fighter like him before who uses his knees so effectivly...
i respect what you say Matt and yeah i might have some resentmant coz he beat up two of my favorite fighters of all time.... whats your take on Ray vs. Remy?

oh yes they did. particularly at the end of the first round, sem took a clean right to the chin as he was moving in.

my take on remy vs ray? its on the other thread about the show.

i just watched the fight again and i think you should do it as well...
i can name only Dr. Hunt who can take a clean punch from Ray and smile about it.

Agreed Matt, Ray clipped Semmy with an overhand right with about a second to go in the first round. I saw a copy of the event that was commentated by Ernesto Hoost and he commented that he was surprised Semmy took it but that he might have been in trouble if it had been earlier in the round where Ray possibly could have tried to follow up.
IMHO I sincerely doubt Ray beats Semmy in a re-match. Style is all wrong for Ray.

i cant believe that was your "clean punch" you've been talking about. ray's clean punch is the one that put ruslan down. thats what i'm talking about. damn. he didnt connect none in shilts fight. word.

oh ok, it doesnt count as a clean shot unless the guy ends up on his arse. got me there.

thats right - thats what happens when sugarfoot connects. you should know it by now fool.

uh oh, here we go, another mental giant.
the new breed of nuthugger is here. this new breed of nuthugger is not content to simply call every close decision a rip off, call every clear loss a close one or say that their guy could draw a record crowd in mongolia. this new nuthugger has de-volved to the point where it believes any fight where the opponent isn't knocked out is a fight where their guy didnt land a clean shot. this nuthugger will sit and throw tragically out of date terms like "word" at you while sitting through showings of sefo's fights with matt skelton, sam greco, sem schilt, 3 with ernesto hoost, peter aerts, cyril abidi, remy bonjasky, 2 with andy hug and musashi and insist that none of these guys should be credited for there wins because collectively not one clean shot was landed by ray!
the nuthugger will sit through screenings of rays fights with jean claude leuyer and carter williams and insist that every shot ray was landing while being unable to drop the oponenet and actually getting caught himself was, as the subject stated, "not a clean shot, fool!" when asked why, nuthugger stated "because the opponent is still standing, y'all!"
when approached and asked how is it many out-slugged and stopped Ray, the subject stopped before screaming "word!" and then something about "shiznits" and "dawgs". approach with caution. or at least a pack of ray sefo trading cards as a peace offering.

Really pleased Chois out, The lumberjack is much better to watch than the monsters that have started to appear in K1. Semmys the man at the moment. Looking forward to see the sugar foot destroy Remy. Regardless of the results what an awesome card. We are driving 7 hours to see this, even tho its televised. The Chief is our favorite mainly because he is from Kyokushin background. We have managed to get ringside seats, can hardly wait, Thanks to the hard workers behind the scenes who made it happen. OSU! RTR

dude you really made yourself look retarded with that comment...
ray is the man and there's nothing some mattj can do or say to change my mind about it.
yeah iceman - dixon deserves to be the promoter of the year what an awsome lineup he's been able to put together. thats a K1 history made in NZ. i hope Mo is the eighth man. i saw him in LV now is your turn... he's al;ways a treat.

Actually that was the comment that made someone look retarded. Not the best way to introduce yourself to the forum.

Personally never understood why people start name calling at the slightest thing over a fighter. Things re going to get out of hand after May 21st too. <img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle>
