Good to see Cyril Abidi in the the 8 man.
He is unpredictable and can take a beating.
He is the dark horse IMO.
Peter Graham should do well against this line up.
This would be the first time in many a year that Ray Sefo has fought on home soil.
Remy will out point him.

Peter Graham has an excellent chance of taking this tournament out, and if Ray beats Remi, it could set up a match between the two in Auckland at a later date perhaps... Great card, lucky kiwis.

Admin ........
It will a close fight for sure.
Taking into account that Ray is fighting at home and with a wave of support. These 2 have met previosly with Remmy comming up with the win.
Ray will have to rely on his KO power to win this one... cause Remmy
is defiantely a smarter fight with more weapons.
Sefo the big hitter vs Remmy the technician, can't wait for this one.
Admin.......
Care to put up some Melbourne " lobsters " for this one ?????<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

Great card, any chance we will get to see this in Oz?
My predictions
In the Tournament, I think Paul can win it! would be great to see a Paul V Peter final though. In the superfights I reckon Semmy will beat Hong-Man. Remy will have Rays measure once again but it could go either way.

remy really handled ray easily the first time they fought. controlled the whole fight and stopped ray with low kicks. but spada, don't forget that as with every other time ray loses there were mysterious forces at work! ray accidentally swallowed a plate full of jalapeno peppers before the fight which as you can understand affected his performance, hence the loss. a jalapeno-free ray will win easily!

It seems to be that way MattJ ..........
Ray has promised alot for ages but as yet hasn't delivered.
I like watching Ray fight... he has awesome power and can take a hit.
But whether it is illness.. injury...weight ...or mums cooking, time is running out for him to win the K1.
Come on Admin... time to part with some hard earned "lobsters"<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

i never thought a fighter had to win the k1 to prove they were great. likewise winning it doesn't mean your the greatest either. its not a true gauge of abilities and never has been. rays career will stack up well when all is said and done without a k1 title to his name. but i will say ray is a great fighter who has gone from being heavily underrated to heavily overrated.

My pick,
Remy Bonjasky
Sem Schilt

Ray has had a tremendous career and was unstoppable at cruiserweight.
The thing is he has been with the K1 since 1996.
10 years of fighting exclusively for them should land you a title at some stage if you are good enough.
LUCK .... has a huge part to do with it as does ability and ring smarts.I am in no way righting Ray off..... he might come out all guns blazing and use his " boomerang " hooks to good effect and catch Remmy.
My money is on Remmy to do the job over the distance on points.
Great event for New Zealand

i think remy will win on points, but ray can beat him. remy is flawed in a lot of ways. for a start his hands are terrible and anyone who pays attention know i put a lot of stock in hand skills. remy caves in to guys who pressure him a lot, make no mistake he doesnt handle pressure well, but you have to have the weapons to worry him. sem schilt beat remy twice because remy was on the back foot the whole time. remy fought some wrestler, the predator, at dynamite who made him look like sh!t because with his size and strength he could bully remy around. crocop put it on remy, remy actually stopped fighting against crocop, crocop was on him and the ref stopped it. botha pressured and outscored remy the whole fight (but got dropped in the last 10 secs with a high kick). the theme is the same in every fight, remy doesn't like pressure and cant fight on the back foot. ray doesnt have the weapons of a lot of these guys. sem and predator had natural size and strenth. crocop has a lot more weapons. botha can fight at a more sustained pace. ray is flat footed and fights the same every fight. he'll look for one big counter shot or try to catch remy going in. but i dont think he has enough weapons. he'll catch low kicks on the way in and get tied up, like the first time. remy wont punch with him. he'll do what he does. and if it goes like the first time, he'll win.
risky move for them to put to match ray with remy, i would have thought the smarter play for a show back home would be to match ray with choi. fairly easy to market, good spectacle and choi cant really fight.

Yes,Remy can be found out when hes on the back foot.
Although against Bjorn Bregy he was getting a touch up in the 1st before he impressively came back to finish off the big guy with his flying knees.
I also think that with Ray being about 5'10 in height.... Remmy
doesn't need to stand and trade. His knees could be the telling factor
if Ray gets sloppy in defence.
I like the way Dixon hasn't given Ray an easy fight.
Admin ......
Since we got to see the K1 Oceania Qualifiers.... what are the chances of seeing this event on Foxtel as well ??????

I think Ray will win it infront of his home crowd. He'll wear what Remy has to throw before getting inside and getting the job done. I was watching him against Kaoklai the other day and he threw alot of leg kicks..who knows? Perhaps we'll see a more balanced approach by Ray instead of relying on his hands.
Terrific chance for either Sting or the Chief to win it. As much as my heart says to support the hometown boy in Suttie..my head tells me he doesn't have the size to match it with Chief, Mo or Abidi. Interesting to see how Paula comes back from the losses against Suttie and Matt Samoa.

suttie has more than enough for the likes of abidi. i am almost never completely dismissive of a fighters abilities, but abidi is one guy who is just so bad sometimes he is hard to watch.

I personally like Abidi in the lineup.
His wild punches have earned him some big name victories in the K1
but his defences are terrible at times.Esp when he is hurt and he turns his back when someone is rushing him.
He has the experience to take it out.... but there are better technical fighters in there with him.Should make for some great fighting if he is ready to slug it out.

Thanx... will be in touch about the Lobsters <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Mojoman size doesnt matter its all about how big is your heart and trust me suttie has a huge heart.

as fas as i know Mo is on Vegas card on apr.19 and it cuts awfully close having two back to back tournys.
other than that it's awsome lineup. a lot of knock out power. whata way to start a year. hopefully Pycho man can take it all...
ray should'n have a problem with remy specially the way the gentleman is been fighting lately. very important fight for both fighters thou. great matchup.
