Anthony Mundine won 3rd roung knockout of Rico Chong Nee, the brave fighter who lost to Gurkan Ozkan, to the jealous fans who through bottles at Mundine, eat **** you idiots, Green is next!!!

I think either Green by KO or Mundine on points.. I personally don't like Mundine, I think he is arrogrant, disrespectful and lacks sportsmanship but I do think he is a really good boxer unfortunately..

I agree Mundine is a good boxer, but to come out shooting your mouth off, trying to imitate Muhammed Ali in every way when he was in his infancy in the sport initially is just crazy, he still has no social etiquette whatsoever, and it is unfortunate, because then respect is lost for the ability.
I think Green might win, if he lands some of those big punches, I don't think Mundine can take it. In saying that, should be good to watch nevertheless.

Mundane, yes, Mundane, has to be one of the most pathetic athletes I've ever seen. He's a blemish on the sport!

I can't wait to see Green knock Mundane's arrogant ass to the mat!

Personality wise I think Mundine's a bit of an idiot. You can showboat all you like but show a bit of respect to the fans and your opponents..plus all the trash talk becomes boring after a while. Paul Briggs is a good example..all business..let your fists do the talking.

However Mundine does happen to be a talented boxer. V.good athleticism,
hand speed and evasiveness. Power is not too bad either when he gets his combos happening. IMO he could be a boogeyman for Green. Unless Green tags him early, Mundine could box his way to a win.

Id like to see Green ko Mundine in their match up but i think Mundine did look better on the night.Green will have to be a bit less tense and throw more punches to prevail over Mundine, but most big grudge matches rarely live up to the hype!As for the WA crowd being hostile towards Mundine well what do u expect its Greens back yard.

I'm tipping Mundine to beat Green by unanimous decision. He took Kessler's best shots, and he is taller, has better reach and is stronger than Danny.

But when the pressure was on him he tried to run again. I think it will be very close, You can't win a fight with a single fast jab. I'd love to see Green KO Mundine.

Its funny how Mundine is percieved by every one, sure he has said a few silly things in the media and he talks things up, but in person he is a pretty nice guy who does a lot for the kids in his comunity. I personally think that all the talk is hyped up from both sides to create more interest. I've been down there and sparred with him and its been a pleasure every time. I also used to think that green would win easily but afer watching green get done by bayer i think Mundine will beat him

My close friend made a doco on Australian reverts to Islam which featured Mundine and from what he told me he sounds like a very humble and geniune person. From the uncut interviews I saw also he portrayed this type of humble image as well and I have also heard as Matty G mentioned that he does alot for the Aboriginal community.

Though as well all have seen in and around the ring hes a loud, brash, arrogant and selfish person and its a pity thats the only side of him we get to see.

As for the fight I would say Green by a slim margin as I believe his new Cuban trainer Ismael Salas has given him new dimesions.

I really do agree with you all! He probably is a really good guy! BUT, it all comes back to being humble and respectful to your opponents and there team. As much as you might hate them or despise them they are still world class athletes that have made it to the top and that has gotta stand for something even in MUNDINES eyes!!!!
They train there butts off and all they want to do is be the best they can be or in there case the best in the world!
WHAT AN AWESOME RESULT FOR THEM…..

Anthony uses the hype to get himself up for a fight he in everyday life is a top aussie bloke Lets make coment about greens behaviour on the the night he was pretty poor in his fight and then made his little speach that fuelled the crap that followed If that had of been anthony in sydney the press and all the other haters would have hung him for weeks but they thought it was great what green started the bull**** they say anthony has no respect well im sick of everyone saying green is humble and a true aussie I have news people he is no different than anthony. the haters say anthony has fought nobody let me tell you he has fought better boxers than green has take a look at who they have fought and you will see it is true green is a scrappy puncher that is getting poorer with each bout anthony is a great boxer who is getting better each bout you will all be eating humble pie when anthony ends the green machine.

Is spot on, I believe that he talks it all up to create this!!!! We and the public are all talking about him, be it good or bad. I don't personally think it is a good thing either, however he gets the people watching him even if it is to see him lose.

You look at someone like Koysta he does not talk it up at all, and is a well respected athlete/boxer and all Ausies would say good things about him, and watch him to support him, WIN OR LOSE. And he is not even a born Aussie. He is well known from people who don't even follow the sport, and known for his great skill and ability, however Mundine is known from most public to be rude and most want him to lose.

He is a great boxer, and does what he has to do to get the crowds and generate interest be good or bad.

Just my thoughts.

great thread, As a Kiwi you know the sports rivalry between us. The man is a fantastic athlete I hated watching him play league, the big head, I hate watching him win at Boxing, But I watch him. He draws me to the Tv every time just as The prince did, I wanted some-one to knock his block off. The profile of his weight division is immense if he wasnt there, we in NZ would never get to see the fights. Its a catch 22 while he is there we get footage once he gets beaten and drops away we will lose it again. The news footage I saw shows Green inciting violence, against the law here. OSU! RTR

mundine is a good fighter with quick hands, but the one thing he doesnt have is a heart!!! he will hit and run like always when he fights a good oponent (which is rare) and if he does stand toe to toe with green i think he will have a lil nap!
The other i dont like about mundine is in the press release after the other night he said the booing and hatrid for him is because of his race, no its because he is an arrogant, ****head with a big mouth wether he is white, black brown, blue etc!

Green will cut the ring off and stop Mundine its just a case of how long it takes him to do it.On a side note did you see the elbow Dawson threw im not sure if the foxtel cameras picked it up but it was great to see.Maybe a rematch with JWP is not out of the question. He pulled the elbow and didnt hurt his thai opponent.Thai had a bottom lock on just like grapple and Daniel threw a downward elbow to the middle of back.

just on pure boxing side of things ill take Mundine points over Green. Green is to slick and tough to get stopped by Mundine however when boxed does get hit alot. The only chance for a Mundine ko would be his straight right and Green is to smart for that.

My money is on Mundine, but I don't care who wins, they're both awesome fighters and whoever trains that hard and wins deserves it.
Gotta say though, i'm getting a wee bit sick of people at fights (or the RSL) continually slagging Mundine. shut up and watch the fight!People get so upset by him, why can't they just find him amusing? We have hardly heard boo from mundine but every second night freaking green is on TV saying Anthony Mundine this Anthony Mundine that - he would have been better concentrating on trying to beat Beyer.

Everyone says Green will KO mundine like he is some big powerhouse. Mundine has good power too but his problem is that he does not use it often enough. He needs to believe in his ability to go toe to toe & in Kessler fight he proved he could match it up with some big blows. Green has massive heart & power but thats it. Mundine is a much better BOXER than Green hands down.

Everyone keeps saying if Green hits mundine he will KO him, well that would prob be the case with anyone!! (not just Choc) but i can guarantee if it goes 12 Choc will be ahead on points & to me that proves who is the better BOXER!!
